  • Summary: A series of grisly murders brings Lara into conflict with a sinister Alchemist from the past, and a secret alliance of powerful individuals shrouded in mystery. At the center of these mysteries are the Obscura Paintings - five 14th century pieces of art that the Alchemist is desperate to repossess. Accused of the murder of her one time mentor, Werner Von Croy, Lara becomes a fugitive on the run. Pursued by the police, she follows the Alchemist into a dark world of blood, betrayal and vengeance where it is up to her to defeat this unholy alliance, and stop them from unleashing their incredible powers on the world. 1. Even with TR’s faults, this game is quite enjoyable for new people to the TR universe. Old fans will just be ecstatic over the story and the chance to play a 21st century version of Lara Croft.
  2. Unlike previous Tomb Raider games that presented you with a handful of secrets items, areas, or unlockable bonus content, there is nothing here beyond the core game (no pun intended). There are no branching paths, multiple endings or any reason to replay the game anytime soon after your first pass.
  3. The gameplay fails on so many different levels, and that’s a shame given how good the other elements are in the game.
  4. Infuriating, buggy, and ultimately boring. [Oct 2003, p.96]

love the game. Yes indeed it is the most advanced and most interesting lara Croft game yet. But I think Tomb Raider 4 is still the best but the new Lara Rocks. I had no troubles with the controls because I am a fan of lara and I have played TR 3,TR 4 TR Chronicles and I now have finished TR TAOD. Everyone should try this one. Expand

Very good graphics, can be buggy at times and a bit weired,on some levels you go through doors and its total darkness like the game hasent been made properly, its ok on 32mb graphics but better on 64mb crappy graphics on a ati radeon mobility when you go thrugh steam and lightining effects its get on your nerves. The game is awesome and good sound good fighting and steath moves very good. Expand

It's a pretty good game so far controls are kinda iffy but the graphics are great but there is only one problem that makes me give it a 7 is the load time, around 3 min. for each load screen. I got a real good up to date comp. (AGP 64 MB videocard, 128 of RAM) I don't see why it does it but it does :( Expand

Horrible game for PC - you can barely control the Character - Complete waste of money - eidos and core are destroying the franchise by not caring what garbage they are pumping out - stop worrying about making crappy movies and start worrying about making a lasting franchise by having good games - completely horrible and buggy - DONT BUY .
