The comedic cutscenes toying with canon, the hundreds of hidden things to find, and the general sense of a great LEGO game paired with a great series really makes this game a standout.
  2. Harry's adventure into Lego land is exactly what you'd want it to be: charming, fun, and chock-full of secrets.
  3. The story material is handled wonderfully (though if you've never read the books or watched the movies, prepare to be lost), and the gameplay is a great mix of familiar devices and new elements. Although the inevitable follow-up to this title may take a darker turn, I look forward to experiencing it all the same.
  4. LEGO Harry Potter is a lighthearted, fun game that will keep you busy for quite some time.
  5. Another piece perfectly fitting to a growing construction set of LEGO games. As this usual great fun doubles when you play it with a friend in coop multiplayer. [Aug 2010]
  6. LEGO Harry Potter is much deeper than it seems and presents a universe that feels tailored for the LEGO treatment. A few technical issues aside, LEGO Harry Potter is a game that is truly fun for all ages and above all, a game first and a license second.
  7. A joyous and addictive action puzzler. [Sept 2010, p.102]
  8. If you're a Harry Potter fan, a Lego fan, or just looking for a fun pick up and play game, do yourself a favor and check it out.
  9. The format of these games gets more and more tired with each new franchise, too. [Sept 2010, p.104]
  10. A great comeback for the Lego series with a great love for details and lots of comedy. But it's too easy for seasoned gamers and therefore targeted at a younger audience.
  11. An imperfect romp that manages to cover its flaws with charm and relentless action. [Oct 2010, p.84]
  12. LEGO Star Wars was an inspired experiment of a talented team. LEGO Harry Potter is a mediocre product of seasoned craftsmen, complete with old mistakes but not a single spark.
  13. The concept of LEGO Games blends perfectly with the Harry Potter franchise. Possibly the best LEGO Game to date!
  14. Lego Harry Potter is the next big franchise to be set up with the cute and funny Lego-style, which developer Traveller's Tales had in their previous games. If you don't mind the problems with the fixed camera-angles and the low difficulty of the game, you get a comic, comprehensive game that is absolutely suitable for kids and which offers co-op gameplay.

I would say it is an awesome game, but the game is very glitched. around the end of year 3,dark tower, the game freezes after a certain action in the beginning, making it very hard to finish the rest of the game. Full Review »

It's another good installment of the Lego video game series. Certainly it's not as fun as Lego Star Wars, but it still holds its own. Magic is just as fun as The Force and you get a lot of different spells to use. Splitscreen is also a very welcome addition to the series if you co-op play; previously, you had to have both player characters in the same screen, but now you can wander off and it creates two separate views. There's a lot of things to collect, especially in Hogwarts, and there's a detector for almost all of them so it doesn't get to be too hard. There are tons of different puzzles and almost none of them will require an FAQ because you get stuck. Good fun all around, and (according to Steam) at least 32 hours of gameplay. There are a few bugs, but nothing that kills the game. It 100% crashes for me whenever you exit the game, but that doesn't really matter. It also occasionally crashes randomly during play, but it doesn't set you back much unless you're in a level. I also encountered a few oddities and glitches, but again nothing that kills then game or prevents 100% completion. Full Review »

A great game for anyone who loved legos as a kid. The environments look fantastic and include a nice mix of lego objects and standard graphics. Casting spells on everything is actually a lot of fun. Plus, the cut scenes are entertaining and add a lot of humor to the story.

This is a family friendly game, so don't expect much in the way of challenges. You will spend most of your time zapping things looking for stud coins, which is fun at first, but gets a little repetitive by the end.
