  • Summary: A journey through four great mythologies, Loki allows the player to take-on the role of one of four heroes: a mighty Norse warrior, a fierce Greek fighter, a powerful Egyptian sorcerer or a skilled Aztec shaman. Each comes from a different mythological background and each has different strengths and skills and, therefore, radically different ways of fighting. During an epic adventure, the player gives battle to a multitude of enemies. Hundreds of creatures and opponents of every kind have been created for the game, so that the player is going to have to fight his/her way past skeletons, giant spiders, centaurs, mummies, harpies, wild animals, a vast array of soldiers, culminating in the showdowns with formidable bosses such as Medusa, Fenrir the wolf or Fafnir the dragon. Each boss has a particular way of fighting so the player must discover his weak points. As the hero(ine) advances through the game he/she isbe able to collect or exchange thousands of items, including 500 unique objects, such as Thor's hammer or Achilles' armour. 1. Despite revamping the same excellent style of fantasy RPG action found in Diablo II, you'll find Loki: HoM mixes familiar gameplay with mythological themes and some updated graphics for a lengthy quest worthy of your time. Even at the most monotonous points you'll want to keep coming back for more.
  2. More of a solid warrior and less of a gaming god. [Oct 2007, p.80]
  3. Loki may be awfully late for the party, but this Diablo derivation is a solid rip-off with great game mechanics and atmosphere.
  4. This game has basically been done before and been done better. Even for hardened action RPG fans who are looking for their next fix before Diablo 3 hits, it would be difficult to recommend much about Loki that would provide them with any sort of new buzz.

  3. Loki is good game but only some hours. After 3-4 hours this game is very boring. Only going and kill all stupid enemies. Locations is very bad because it look same. Only 4 heroes.....but all have different story and region to play. Graphics is not bad but enemies look similarly. Animation isn't very good.... Loki isn't bad game but too no good. My rate is 5,7/10 Expand
  4. This is one of the worst games I have ever played! I cannot stretch enough how this game has haunted me, because I really wanted to give it a try. Instead of a fantastic mythological adventure I found myself fighting bugs and frustrating lvl-ups.
As a game it fails completely, because of the implementation scaling feature. The enemy gets stronger as you do! This means that when you start your epic quest you will spend three hits killing a wolf with your wooden axe, and 30 levels later you will spend three hits killing the same wolf, in the same location with a an upgraded super-weapon!
Further your skills are useless to level up, because for some inane reason the high-level skills and spells will progress slower than your low-level spells the more points you put in them, so the only way to do decent damage is pour all your skill points into low-level firebolts rather than your supposedly "epic" skills.

This game is atrocious. You want to like, because the setup is great: mythology, history and the ability to fight the gods themselves, but instead it becomes a teeth-grinding test of patience, and you do not play because the game is fun, but only because you want to see where the story takes you. Save yourself the trouble, don't buy this game!
