Immense fun for both the empire-builder and the medieval combatant with all the intrigue and bloodletting you could want. [Feb 1997, p.148]
  2. Lords of the Realm was one of the best selling historical simulations ever but there was room for improvement. Lords 2 takes all the elements of the original and embellishes them, with added graphics, sound and gameplay.
  3. And challenging it is: The Middle Ages were tough times and similarly, Lords of the Realm II is a tough game.

Ahhh.... This game has a lot of history for me, being one of the first I played on Windows (95), back in 1997. I got the demo off of a PCAhhh.... This game has a lot of history for me, being one of the first I played on Windows (95), back in 1997. I got the demo off of a PC Gamer disc, if I recall, and intensely hungered for more. Fast forward to today, and I still play it now and then. The AI is terrible by today's standards; you can trick the enemies into funneling into meaty jaws of arrowdeath pretty easily once you get the hang of it. But it's still fun. Game is a blast in multiplayer, if you can get past the fact that modern computers make it behave like a tweaker with 10 cups of coffee. Grab it, try it, and enjoy it. Full Review »
