  1. It's not going to win any awards for its storyline, but when viewed as a series of standalone missions, it's a blast, and I believe that what it’s supposed to be.
  2. Shot-for-shot this is the same game console players had in January - a fantastic, hard as hell shooter that'll knock your eyes out of your head. But with no new content at all and a lack of the ultra-cool bonus multiplayer maps, we've got to dock it a bit.
  3. The port itself just seems to be incomplete, with the Xbox 360-centric prompts, reward tokens (previously used for 360 achievements) that now have no purpose whatsoever, and sluggish performance.

Capcom of Japan is learning from the West in their game design, and learning how to do a PC port the right way. It's clear that this is alien territory for them, and they have missed some opportunities along the way. Still, they have created an enjoyable game and a port that satisfies, even if it isn't as grand as it could have been.
  5. The AI has some dumb moments. Several enemies remained inactive until I'd shot them three times. [Sept 2007, p.70]
  6. But if shooter enthusiasts own a powerful gaming rig, they will not be disappointed, with a $39.99 price tag (a full $20 cheaper then the X360 version) thrown in for good measure.

Talk about the old sound and fury saw -- you'll finish Lost Planet too soon and won't go back for seconds. That's really the definition of why not to buy something, isn't it?

The controls for the computer was really easy to use and even when I got a game control is made it more funnier to play then it was with a keyboard and mouse. Just he weapons themselves are kool and the mercs are really nicely detailed. Expand

I have noticed that alot of the people tearing the game apart are Xbox360 owners which tells me that either there very bitter about the fact the graphics are enhanced for the PC version or they just have a crappy PC that would have trouble playing Doom 1 never mind anything else, i thought this game was amazing the graphics are great and the sound excellent even my brother who brought and Xbox360 when they first came out prefers this vesion, or maybe its because they getting back at the PC comunity for the up coming version of Gears of War with its extra missions and enhanced graphics. Don't bitch and whine if you don't like it, why did you buy it in the first place after all there was a demo out that you could try BEFORE spending you money. Expand

No joke. You better have a very fast computer. My 7800 GT, 2GB ram, and 3800 wasn't good enough. If you do have the horses then this game (from what I could play) was entertaining. Non stop shooting and explosions, this ain't for those with high blood pressure. Tastes like Call of Duty on the rocks, with a shot of 151 to spice things up. Expand

After purchasing this game it would not install on my 64bit xp system. I upgraded directx and did several changes suggested in forums online. It would not run. I upgraded to Vista 64 and it still will not run under directx 10. I have a 512meg x1800 Radeon pci eXpress x16 graphics card, 4gigs of dual channel DDR2 at 800mhz, and a socket AM2, AMD Athlon 64 FX 62 running at 3.02 ghz with refrigerated liquid cooling, and it tells me my system was not good enough. Eventually by working on it for several hours I got the game to work under Vista with the Directx 9.0c version. Then after playing for about an hour I was disgusted with the gameplay. It is not suited to use with a keyboard and mouse. The excitement was just not there like it is in other shooters. I think the third person view ruined it for me. Just makes it seem shabby. In effect, I did not like the game at all and wish I never would have purchased it. It was error prone and too system demanding without the level of enjoyment I was hoping for. Expand

Nothing worse than having steam d/c you when you get to the end of level and haveta do it all over again. And the worst thing is that multiplayer doesn't work for most people. Expand
