Made Man is a fine shooter after all, not just another crime sim-bynumbers. It's nothing you've not played before, but you won't have played anything as single-minded for a while. Forgeddabout it at your peril.
All the natty Maria dialogue and realistic story threads can't disguise the fact that, at its core, Made Man is bland like breadsticks. [Dec 2006, p.81]
While it doesn't to a lot wrong, Made Man's inability to do anything right leaves a drab and boring experience that, given the abundance of vastly superior alternatives, is best avoided by all but the most undemanding fans. [Issue#146, p.96]
In general, Made Man: Confessions of the Family Blood is a marginally passable offering, something to play if you've drained every last bit of enjoyment out of Max Payne and absolutely can't find anything else to play.
The difficulty level here fluctuates more than the NYSE, with some enemies being as effective as 2 year olds while others could put an eye out from a half mile away.
Main Man can only be recommended if you enjoy to run around and shoot things for no real reason, and there are countless other games that do better without the annoyances that accompany this stereotypical title. [Dec 2006, p.127]
It never becomes fun. It looks awful and sounds even worse. It could almost be recommended ironically as a game so bad that it's entertaining or as a basis for some sick drinking game (take a shot every time an enemy gets stuck on a corner), but it's even too bland for that.
