  • Summary: In this final expansion, players continue the story from the land of Ardania. Only now the king has been overthrown and has fled the safety of his palace. With only his trusted advisor and his bedclothes to spare his blushes, the unseated king must turn to former enemies in order to reacquire the throne. Gather the gaggle of creatures, train them, equip them and send them to battle. Order them to attack your betrayers and retake what is yours. Monster Kingdom contains a new eight mission campaign called “Exiles of Fate,” which contains a host of new buildings, heroes, abilities and guild powers to discover. Expand

Majesty 2 embarks on its best expansion yet, adding monster sidekicks and softening the difficulty level to the real-time king simulation.

If you're looking for the one expansion pack to play for Majesty 2, then this is it. But if you're tired of Majesty 2 already, picking this up isn't going to make you love it again.

New campaign enhances the frustration of the bad artificial intelligence due to its extreme difficulty. The game is long but is enjoyed only by the biggest fans of the original game. [Issue#200]

While Majesty 2: Monster Kingdom doesn't reinvent any part of the gameplay, the change of scenery and units is appreciated, but in the end you're still playing the same exact game with a new coat of paint. The unrelenting difficulty, arguably even higher than the last expansion's, makes this entry for Majesty die-hards only.

Monster Kingdom is too uninspired and weak to entice the veterans of the original Majesty, and it will definitely won't attract any new fans.

I really enjoyed both majesty 2 and especially this expansion. It is really really fun to play as the monsters - I actually was forced to learn some new strategy tips despite completing the previous pretty hard expansions. Majesty 2 monster kingdom is pretty dang awesome. I would buy an expansion with it. Expand

Monster Kingdom seems to at first add an entirely new perspective to Majesty 2 but quickly falls into the same routine as before. The same strategies can be applied over and over, despite the difference in creatures and they still didn't manage to iron out all the bugs. They actually introduced new ones! (Tax collectors no longer being able to collect money from mills, AI triggering events meant for the player to trigger) It's as if they don't test or play their own software but just want to make a quick buck. They even had the audacity to try and cut costs by not using English writers, causing the voice-overs to be completely different from the horrible, confusing and broken English that is served to the player in text form. Playing with the Goblins is more fun than playing with the regular heroes. Their buildings look more interesting, their voices less annoying and the irony of the story won't be lost on the player. Still nowhere close to Majesty 1, though. A shame. Much potential, little effort. Expand
