Getting this game over the "FIFA" series or "Winning Eleven" will primarily be a matter of your interest in Machester United (or any of the other franchises present here) rather than your interest in game mechanics or modes. The presentation for the game relies heavily on your love of a certain team.
  2. Although the game lacks some of the amenities of the long-established "FIFA" series, it also lacks a lot of the baggage that the EA Sports monolith has accumulated over the years. [March 2005, p.86]
  3. The ideas were there but sloppy AI really makes this game falter well before the goal.
  4. The sound gets the job done and the graphics leave mixed feelings, but nothing begins to save the bad gameplay.
  5. Difficult to recommend even to fans of the team, because, unlike Alex Ferguson's world-class squad, the game doesn't play an attractive, realistic, or even challenging game of soccer.
  6. A $19.99 price tag is decent, but still $20 too much for any Non-Manchester fans, and even the latter fans would need to be sloggered on a few pre-game beverages to appreciate this title.

Even the most determined Man U follower stuck in the bowels of America would be better off editing together a team in Konami's masterpiece than taking the easy way out offered here.
  8. The gameplay is not only less sophisticated but also far less soccer-like than either of the two serious alternatives on the market. [Feb 2005, p.89]
  9. I have found a game that I like even less than "FIFA" and I really didn’t think that was going to be possible.

You realise that its not only Man U who are doing this, why there isnt a separate Arsenal or Real Madrid column i dont understand. The game it self, like all the other Club Football's are virtually for the fans only, and in truth aren't even FIFA's let alone PES's. And as for Man U, 5th in the premiership and in the last 16 of the UCL doesn't seem too bad, especially when you look at liverpool ;) Full Review »

Man united are just trying to make cash, this game is nothing more then money making scheme to pay for their prawns and champagne. I traded the game in after purchase as it lacked realism, as it made man united, and their players far too powerful. If realism was to be achieved they need to release a patch putting them on par with teams in the bottom half of the premiership. [Ed: bitter?] Full Review »
