Getting this game over the "FIFA" series or "Winning Eleven" will primarily be a matter of your interest in Machester United (or any of the other franchises present here) rather than your interest in game mechanics or modes. The presentation for the game relies heavily on your love of a certain team.
Although the game lacks some of the amenities of the long-established "FIFA" series, it also lacks a lot of the baggage that the EA Sports monolith has accumulated over the years. [March 2005, p.86]
The sound gets the job done and the graphics leave mixed feelings, but nothing begins to save the bad gameplay.
Difficult to recommend even to fans of the team, because, unlike Alex Ferguson's world-class squad, the game doesn't play an attractive, realistic, or even challenging game of soccer.
A $19.99 price tag is decent, but still $20 too much for any Non-Manchester fans, and even the latter fans would need to be sloggered on a few pre-game beverages to appreciate this title.
The gameplay is not only less sophisticated but also far less soccer-like than either of the two serious alternatives on the market. [Feb 2005, p.89]
I have found a game that I like even less than "FIFA" and I really didn’t think that was going to be possible.
