Nice gameplay and deep strategy for the latest incarnation of Mechwarrior. Too bad it lacks any kind of Single Player content.
Piranha has long promised that “community warfare” will address this lack of endgame, but that feature has been delayed so often that it’s hard to be sure if it’s ever coming out. It’s a bit of a shame that there’s so little reason to keep at MechWarrior Online. The matches themselves are fun–and as it is free-to-play, there’s no barrier to entry–but without any form of metagame it’s hard to stay engaged.

Great game! I really enjoy shooting other people mechs. The gameplay is great, Making and building our mech is fantastic! you can change a lot of aspects of your mech! like armor, engine, ammo, heat and jump jets and more.
Grahpics are good. like the mech and their cockpit is good. You got an startup animation which i enjoy watching everytime i go and play.
It feels like the negative reviews are botted. But keep in mind that most of them are old. like from the 2012 to 2018 era and the game is not pay to win. just find a mech that suites you and your good to go.
for you who is i having freezing issues it is probably because your pc is not good at runing this game.
whoever who is being negative in 2021 is wrong.

- Playerbase is small. about 700-2500 players at the same time online. But its enough.
- some events are senseless pewpew events. but you can win some stuff. In this time, players are fighting with mech's and weapons only for the event goals.

MWO is one of the best games i ever player. But its also one of the hardest game to master.
You cant go inside and shot around like in War Thunder, World of Tanks etc. You need some time to, master the game.

Once you get the hang of it all, the strategic combat and its required pre-game build strategy and in-game adaptivity is fun, but don’t expect to master its tricky team-based combat and overwhelming upgrade system without a serious commitment.
MechWarrior Online does a pretty good job in balancing out the gameplay and gives you lots of BattleMechs, weapons and items to buy, but it's got only two game modes and it's definitely not that fun.
When firing on all cylinders, MWO is an enjoyable sim-shooter, but for all the overheating energy weapons in the world, the current product still feels a little half-baked.
MechWarrior Online is a smart game burdened by free-to-play annoyances and unfortunately lacking in things to do outside straightforward combat. The grind of match after match eventually erodes your enthusiasm as you start to wonder what it’s all for. Considering MechWarrior has a rich history to draw from, it’s hard not to feel like something’s missing when you find yourself in an endless arena.
At the core, MechWarrior Online delivers deep, fun tactical combat, serving it up with a fantastic visual experience. There are all sorts of nuances and tricks to discover that help set skilled players apart from newcomers. But all of that is squandered by an incomplete wrapping that’s more focused on selling items than covering the basics. This is reinforced by the high price of some item shop ‘Mechs.
Well, boys and girls, I spent several years of my life on this game.
In short: worse than heroin.
Little longer: great mech design, great nostalgia, great universe, not so much money needed (on the other hand - its a pure money grinding machine), slow tactical gameplay, AWFUL matchmaking, small playerbase, frustrating mathes, no alternatives, intriguing mechlab (like building kit for adults).
Much joy and much suffering, like masochistic love.

It's pay to win.
Don't let them fool you. All the latest and newest mechs are always more OP than the previous mechs. The people who get access to the new mechs are the people who pay real money for it. If you pre-order a mech with real money you get access to it months before regular players do. With new mechs being released all the time the latest mechs you buy will always be more OP.
If you do play DONT WASTE REAL MONEY ON IT

I was a founder for this game, and it has let me down from start to finish for the following reasons:
1. Devs don't listen to the community, or if they do, it takes them 3-5 months to release a simple patch for something that is horribly broken. To further my point, this game was in open beta for 3 YEARS. They developer SLOW AS HECK! I mean, this is some DayZ-rate development! I'll probably be dead before that game is done!
2. You pay 20$ for a nice mech, and 3 months later a new mech comes out that is designed specifically to kill your mech, and it costs another $20
3. The maps are absolutely terrible, and not balanced at all.
4. Heavy-handed attempts at fixing balance serve no other purpose than to break intricate mech builds and render all your hours of effort obsolete every couple of months.
5. The majority of people playing this game nowadays are apparently not bothered by 1-4 and play all the time. The game has a VERY steep learning curve because of all the time and $ that goes into building proper mechs, and because of this new players are scared off by how expensive and hard it is.
6. I personally felt insulted by several interactions and comments PGI has made on forums/twitter
