A worthy expansion to its namesake, taking players through previously unexplored areas of WWII's Mediterranean campaigns.

Перепрошел летом 2023, и получил массу удовольствия. По левел дизайну отлично, уровни достаточно открытые, вас не держат все время в узкой кишке, хотя они тоже есть, но это все больше напоминает арены, двигаться за частую можно разными путями. Напарники это боты, у них есть HP, они могут погибнуть, они также отстреливают противников и активно участвуют в бою.
Враг сильно меньше привязан к определенной точке, и сражение напоминает онлайн битву с ботами. Боты преследуют вас, обходят с флангов, атакуют с разных сторон, активно стрейфятся и укрываются и всячески вас развлекают. Графика уже старенькая, но дизайн отличный, киношный дух в наличии. В общем это не очень похоже на тир как у конкурентов, а больше похоже на сражение с ботами из Quake3, только в декорациях второй мировой, и без респауна противников. Жаль что Call of Duty все еще выходит, а MoH серия которая послужила основой для всего жанра шутеров в реалистичном сетинге, уже нет.
Отличная игра, с прекрасным геймплеем даже по современным меркам. 10 из 10.
(2018) Один из отцов жанра шутеров про вторую мировую, вышел на PC. Все по заветам и лекалам Спасти рядового Райана и Братьев по оружию, в игровой форме. Сильнейший шутер того времени.

While veterans of the series who like fast and loose gun battles might complain about the design changes, anyone who appreciates variety and a touch of realism in their WWII shooters should appreciate the new direction. [Jan 2004, p.77]
There really isn't much to Medal of Honor Allied Assault Breakthrough that you haven't already seen before, and it's definitely not a product that will make people go out and buy Medal of Honor Allied Assault if they haven't already.
Not as good as the original game, and coupled with AI issues it turned out to be a substandard action game. Plus, the challenges and missions are recurrent and nothing more than fleeting moments of fun.
What "Allied Assault" and "Frontline" had that "Spearhead" and "Breakthrough" seem less concerned with is the feeling of a battle raging all around you... Breakthrough's trek to Italy almost feels isolated and distant.
For true devotees, Breakthrough is probably worth the $29.99 price tag. For everyone else, Breakthrough is an appetizer: good while it lasts, but lacking the substance of an entree. [Dec 2003, p.140]
Like Spearhead before it Breakthrough offers more of that sweet Allied Assault gameplay. This time though, I felt like the setting of the missions followed some darker tones fighting at night or during heavy rain which made the color palette of the textures mostly brown (fighting in the desert) and grey (fighting in ruined cities or during heavy rain). There new weapons to be found here as well and new maps for the multiplayer counterpart , alongside the 3 missions. They felt a bit harder than Spearheads especially the final one during the final part. I played the expansion on Normal. It didn't feel as memorable as the other one before it. On the technical part I encountered one bug where I had finished part 3 of mission 3 and it wouldn't load the next one so it got stuck there. I had to restart my computer to get it going again. Other than that it was nice. The sound effect are still good like the last one. I don't know what else to say. It's good for those wanting more gameplay or more maps for some LAN mayhem...

Disgraceful DLC, constant problems with sound, environment disappearing from my sight (Windows 10), poor/awful AI made this game unplayable, I had to constantly quick save in order to maintain as many health and ammo as possible otherwise I would have needed to go Rambo on them. Due to poor condition of AI it's impossible to dodge in jeep drives. Quick save is your precious friend. Avoid… Expand

Even for its time, Medal of Honor was never as great as people think it is, all cinematic flash and no substance, but its expansions are simply disgraceful.
Breakthrough in particular is a terrible game. Imagine a first person shooter where the enemies almost never drop any ammo and are bullet sponges on top of that. That's right: you'll have to quicksave constantly, and quickload whenever you feel you've wasted too much ammo or health, which is all the time.
Add to it some of the worst escort missions with suicidal AI that you've ever seen, unbelievably bad turret sections and what I can only call aggravating tower defense minigames with instant-failure conditions, and you have a completely miserable experience to suffer through.
There is no entertainment to be found anywhere within MoH:AA Breakthrough. Stay away from it at any cost. Play the base game if you have to, and don't touch any of the expansions.

This game was a huge PITA when it first came out and I had to work too hard to complete it. there is almost NOTHING dropped by any of the bullet sponges who will use up your ammo and health in this abortion. You can head shot enemies and they shake it off with many who will get up after going down to shoot you in the back. Mechanics are a Joke and any semblance of "fun" was an afterthought by the Hacks that coded this mess. One of the most frustrating Bombs I have ever played even for it's time. Definitely would not spend more than $2.00 on this if you are considering actually paying for it!
