  1. Precisely what an expansion pack should be; it takes the original game and builds a completely unique, exciting experience off of it.
  2. An excellent expansion. [Dec 2003, p.180]
  3. A worthy expansion to its namesake, taking players through previously unexplored areas of WWII's Mediterranean campaigns.

It doesn't add that much to the series beyond a dozen extra missions. For hardcore Medal of Honor fans like myself, this will suffice.
  5. While veterans of the series who like fast and loose gun battles might complain about the design changes, anyone who appreciates variety and a touch of realism in their WWII shooters should appreciate the new direction. [Jan 2004, p.77]

While it could have been a more inspired finale, the multiplayer aspect makes up for the single-player shortcomings. The aging engine has been used for all its worth.
  7. What we do get are new levels in North Africa and Italy, in which we slog through the same old objectives and firefights we've been executing since January '02. [Dec 2003, p.108]
  8. There really isn't much to Medal of Honor Allied Assault Breakthrough that you haven't already seen before, and it's definitely not a product that will make people go out and buy Medal of Honor Allied Assault if they haven't already.
  9. It's not that there's all that much terribly wrong with Breakthrough, it's more that there’s nothing all-that-right right about it.
  10. What "Allied Assault" and "Frontline" had that "Spearhead" and "Breakthrough" seem less concerned with is the feeling of a battle raging all around you... Breakthrough's trek to Italy almost feels isolated and distant.
  11. Not as good as the original game, and coupled with AI issues it turned out to be a substandard action game. Plus, the challenges and missions are recurrent and nothing more than fleeting moments of fun.
  12. This isn't the sort of add-on that improves the original, or even changes the core gameplay very much, although it is a nice added chapter that fans will certainly appreciate.

You're not going to get the butterflies in your stomach the way you did the first time you stormed the beach at Normandy, but the visceral gameplay and scripted events make you feel like you're never too far from the troop transport.
  14. For true devotees, Breakthrough is probably worth the $29.99 price tag. For everyone else, Breakthrough is an appetizer: good while it lasts, but lacking the substance of an entree. [Dec 2003, p.140]

Malo drukčije misije u odnosu na prvi, ambijent je tu i tamo, čudan AI, a još i bugovi,
    ipak na kraju dosta

I would recommend it for anyone who found the first two games a breeze as it does contain some stunning levels.

I thought Spearhead was bad. Breakthrough was worse, by far. The fact that it seemed like only one in thirty enemies dropped ammo for me made I thought Spearhead was bad. Breakthrough was worse, by far. The fact that it seemed like only one in thirty enemies dropped ammo for me made it an incredibly annoying game to play. You honestly can't expect someone to beat a game like MoH, with so many enemies to kill, on 40 rounds in a pistol that isn't the ultra-powerful Hi-Standard HDM. There was nothing exciting about this game, and the coolest thing was the Berthier, which should have been a Bren gun and wasn't included even remotely enough. Full Review »
