Using a simple 2-key tap system (space bar and enter), players tap out the beats to re-energize MEVO and push him forward. As the game progresses, the beat sequences become more complex, evolving from basic single beats to rapid beats, combinations, sequences and long-hold sustains with breaks. By successfully completing the levels, players can access new areas and songs, or be rewarded with in-game items, such as avatar pieces that are needed to activate power-ups. Power-ups include slow mo, shield up, "perfect boost" scoring, and autopilot. No matter what skill level, players are rewarded with avatars, dance packs and badges to help progress through the game. Even though the game is accessible and easy to play for all levels of players, advanced players will be challenged with the game's multiple layers of game play, including hidden levels, power-ups, badges and dance packs. Mevo and the Grooveriders is a fantastic little game, it has so much charm to it, and a pretty original gameplay idea that works, that you're going to find yourself having fun playing regardless if you're a FPS veteran or a boyfriend/girlfriend who got suckered into trying it in the hopes of getting you a gaming addiction.

Mevo & The Grooveriders offers incredibly addictive achievements, enough to keep your appetite full with a never-ending plate.
  3. As an overall package, Mevo and the Grooveriders has a lot to offer - and even more content should become available in the coming months.
  4. The bizarre music and strange noises and beats do take away from the experience somewhat, but it’s still an enjoyable game.
  5. The game is fun. There is some replay value if you want to show off your stats and if you like collecting items.
  6. Mevo & the Grooveriders isn't a great idea executed poorly, but a good idea executed passably.
  7. Passably challenging. [Aug 2009, p.79]

for me, Mevo is a pretty new type of music game, it's simple, funk & fun to play. The game is not as addictive as best 3-match games out for me, Mevo is a pretty new type of music game, it's simple, funk & fun to play. The game is not as addictive as best 3-match games out there (i know they are not the same...), but it's worth to try, and it does give me good game playing time. Expand

If you're familiar with vib ribbonon psone, this game will bring back memories. It's a good time killer and pretty easy to get into.
