No matter how much muscle your car is pushing, the AI will always manage a way to gain up on you and take the lead. I felt as if I’ve won a Nobel Peace Price when I finally beat the last race in Paris, and you will too.
Whether you're miles ahead of your opponents, in the heat of it or straggling behind, it provides you with an adrenaline filled rush.

My favourite Racing Game of all time. It's perfect in every aspect and fullfil what i desire in racing games. I recommend the PC version more than the PS2 version.

With a larger career mode featuring more cities and greater tracks, additional gameplay modes and rock solid online play, this is the racer you want to cross the finish line with in your gaming console.
It strays from greatness thanks to completely frustrating AI that ends up cheating so badly, it’s not even worth playing.
Although Midnight Club II is no match for the mighty "Burnout 2" it is worth a purchase if street racing is your thing. There is a nice selection of missions and cars to choose from and the urge to keep trying again is present in most of the levels.
It's exaggerated in its look and feel, but the balance between physical realism and fantasy-tuned fun is so engaging that you begin to forget that a racing game could be fashioned any other way. [May 2003, p.68]
One thing about the game will really piss you off, though, and that's the difficulty. In plain English, the A.I. is freaking brutal, and if you make one mistake in most courses, you may as well restart the race. [June 2003, p.52]
I absolutely loved this game. It's my favorite of the series, and is likely my favorite racing game in general. The handling in this game is a dream, the car selection is excellent, and the locations are full of life. I love being able to actually hit pedestrians, which no games in the series have done since. It adds more things to do with friends as well. Me and several friends have gotten together and spent a whole night trying to mortar each other and pedestrians with the SAVETHEKIDS cheat. The campaign is my favorite in the whole series and had very memorable characters and races. I still know all the shortcuts around town and can hit them perfectly. On one side, I didn't like that cars weren't customizable, but on the other side, the game's balance was much better than in MC:LA, since you didn't have to worry about other cars having upgraded parts. Your car was it, you had to beat the enemies with what cars you had and your own skill. A game like this would not be viable today, since people would complain and ask more of it, but I'd buy it again today if I had another chance.

One of the games i played as a child on my ps2. I remember getting it and playing it for like 10 Hours straight. It starts easy but can get really difficult to finish. It has a great soundtrack, fairly good graphics for the time and the cars feel really good. Not particular realistic but fun!
But **** you Rockstar for taking this game of steam :)

"Midnight Club II" is a slick arcade-style racer from Rockstar Games. Its sense of speed is amazing and the races are intense. This game is super tough, but never feels frustrating. There are plenty of modifiers which keeps the action fresh. But unfortunately, there are no licensed cars or customization options. Despite its shortcomings, MC II is still a worthy sequel. I would rate it with an 8.2 out of 10.
