  1. No, it’s not perfect and isn’t innovative, but it doesn’t pretend to be. It is a good romp of a FPS, quick and dirty, with a good blend of play styles and game elements.
  2. For a game from the same people who brought you such memorable stinkpots as "Mortyr" and the transcendentally lousy "Sniper: Path of Vengeance", Mortyr 2 is actually a semi-competent piece of work.

In a less competitive environment, Mortyr II might have scraped by, but instead it feels generally dated and decidedly unsatisfying in the face of fare like "Brothers in Arms" or "CoD: United Offensive."

I'm still so amazed over Mortyr II's playability that I'm not thinking straight. [June 2005, p.72]

I actually liked the first game for its colorful interior environments and enjoyable indoor fire-fights. Mortyr 2 seems to prefer outdoor environments, and they do look pretty nice......but -- as with the first Delta Force -- you'll find yourself getting cut down by bullets that seem to come from nowhere. Thankfully there is a cheat code -- there is only one cheat code -- that makes you invisible to the enemy, so if your frustration level gets too high you can always fall back on this. Full Review »
