You have to get used to the controls. It's a bit weird that your character is sidestepping very slowly, so you have to turn alot. But when you get the hang of it, a really exciting and challenging puzzle game awaits. The visuals and audio are pretty nice, the world is open to explore and you have to use your brain in order to get done anything. Of course this game is not a 9/10 or 10/10You have to get used to the controls. It's a bit weird that your character is sidestepping very slowly, so you have to turn alot. But if you like smart design and intellectual engaging challenges, you will spend alot of time with Myst Online.

This game has pretty much the best map design I've ever seen in a game, and it's completely free-to-play, what makes it even better. If you like rather slow and thoughtful puzzle games, this is the way to go!

Myst Online: URU Live is not your typical massively multiplayer online role-playing game. It is unique in many, very distinct ways. I must stress one point: If combat and PvP are your primary reasons for playing MMOs then you'll want to pass this one up. There is no combat or PvP at all. Its central gameplay is puzzle based instead of combat based. Your Relto and the Ages that you visit are instanced and cannot be entered by anyone else unless you invite them. The world is one huge sandbox that you have to fully explore in order to discover clues that will lead you to the next step in a puzzle.
  2. URU has promised an evolving story line that will unfold as you venture deeper into the Ages. We didn't really see it yet, though, and we have our avatar's fingers crossed that Cyan adds more features and evolves the storyline, and that more players will flock to this new breed of MMO.

For those that already chewed through Uru's Ages, you'll only be presented with a handful of new challenges along with the online features. As of right now, Uru Live is an empty house with an attic full of old content. Those interested may want to wait for Cyan Worlds to add the furniture before moving in.
