  1. This game just doesn’t compare to previous Nancy Drew games. It’s too short, too easy and doesn’t include enough variety.
  2. While the tropical environment is inviting, and the game honestly isn’t all that bad, it’s a bit expensive for such a short diversion, and most gamers will probably go for something with a little more substance for the same price.

Despite it’s shortcomings, Nancy Drew: The Creature of Kapu Cave should once again please Nancy Drew fans and those who are keen for a simple mystery game.

It's a guilty pleasure, but one with good puzzles. [Mar 2007, p.72]
  5. There’s just not a lot to this game. An incredibly short playthrough and lack of any stimulating thought don’t make it really worthy for purchase, even for a budget title.
  6. Don't know where to start when getting a game for a girl? This is a good place. Nancy Drew has been around for years for a reason, and this mystery adventure does a good job of fitting in with the franchise.
  7. With some enhanced animations and cutscenes, this entry is better than the last game but shorter in duration, and continues to rely a little too heavily on chores than actual detective work.
  8. There is a slight educational element to the game and it’s pretty enough to hold some kids’ interest for a little while. You could also, however, do much better.
  9. A good step above the lame French adventure that preceded this one. We just wish that the game designers could steel their resolve to give us, perhaps in No. 16, another truly great installment in the Nancy Drew series.
  10. Nancy Drew: The Creature of Kapu Cave provided me with about 5 hours of gentle entertainment, and no doubt it will take longer than that for novice players.

I agree. All of them seem too short to me, though. This one, however, had less diversions. That was disappointing. The load of chores and I agree. All of them seem too short to me, though. This one, however, had less diversions. That was disappointing. The load of chores and projects got boring fast. Although I enjoyed the frass part of it. Full Review »

It was short, and the few puzzles were repeats of puzzles in other ND games. When the end came I was surprised for two reasons, 1) I thought I had a lot more to do, and 2) it was horribly abrupt. The graphics were well done and I liked the addition of the Hardy Boys, but overall I was really dissapointed. Full Review »
