Making a name for youself by climbing the game's Black List, aka series of bad-ass mo-fos you must beat, is good fun.

Does Most Wanted feed my adrenaline addiction from start to finish? No - repetition, while unavoidable in a game ilke this, ultimately does in the game's ability to raise your blood pressure. But while it lasts...damn, it's good. [Feb 2006, p.80]

A superb arcade racer that's a feature or two away from greatness. [Feb 2006, p.88]
  4. Fantastic gameplay variety, and stunning graphics make this a worthwhile investment if you own a high-end PC.
  5. Most Wanted brings the police back in force, and the game benefits greatly from it.
  6. The addition of smart and relentless police pursuers has reinvigorated this popular driving series.

It’s a nice, clean package that delivers enough hi-octane chases and enjoyment to warrant a purchase. [Christmas 2005, p.121]

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Need For Speed Most Wanted is in my opinion the best Need For Speed game with excellent graphics that have aged a decade well, lots of crazy f***ing s*** with the police, and an excellent story where character development is deep. Even though NFS 2015 is my favorite game in the franchise, I don't think it could beat the classics.

The game starts out with antagonist "Razor" who cheats and steals your car. In order to get your car back, you need to go through 14 other bosses in which you can take there car fair and square. Characters are in-depth and usually call you through SMS and FMV cutscenes. The game never feels repeatative and you always have something to do.
    Pros:
    Excellent Aged Graphics
    In-Depth Storyline
    Fun Driving
    Intense Police Chases
    Over the top action
    Just Plain Fun

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I actually liked this game because it's all racing and stuff, but there are different reasons too. Cops are chasing you, you can race against bosses and you fight t[he way to get your car back. Beginning is kind of boring but the rest of the game is awesome! Also there are some areas you got to unlock liked in Need For Speed Underground and I like it. The only thing that I might not really like is that when you trying to get enough objectives complete and then you got to beat the boss, when you get to the top ten it's getting boring that you being chased by the cops and when you finally escape, you got to do it again because there are not enough points. The biggest step inThe graphics took a big step forward from Underground 2. The driving mechanics also saw very slight improvement as well. The biggest step in my opinion is the story that the game delivers. They really took the time to make it seem like you are working towards something. Also, unlike Underground 2 the game actually has an ending. The game also kept most of the great customization options from the previous title as well. Soundtrack was fairly good on top of it all. The only thing keeping this from being a 9 in my book is that there was not enough vehicles to choose from (maybe because I have replayed it too many times lol). I was also hoping for some more advancement in vehicle physics (aka damage) and a bit more challenging AI.

All in all I am probably nit picking but regardless this is one of my favorite racing games of all time. I find myself going through careers every so often and is one of those games that I always keep installed.

To bad things really went downhill for the series after this.

Everything else is a step in the wrong direction. In my opinion, games should be moving towards unlimited possibilities, not linear racing with almost no exploration.
