Is it better than NFSU2? The better: you dont have to buy all the tuning pieces to advance in the plot(bye, bye self-spinnig rims!), the police(if only EA let us drive the law enforcers...) and the city. The same ol' genius: engine sound, the pure pleasure of driving, mazda rx-8:D. The worse: no drifts(even as a quick race option), no urls at the airport, worse soundtrack(remember qotsa before- release single?). All-in-alli its slightly diifferent but the series doesnt lose its greatness. You'll love it. Watch for my black two-striped audi a4 in the net racing! You'll hate it:D Expand

This game is one of my personal favorites. The high speed police chases, the blacklist racers, and those phycho pathic taxi drivers that always seem to screw up a race for me >:( . A very good game... Most people say you can't disable the high speed blur thing, but you can. I forget how but its disabled for me and i can play fine.

Its a great and almost perfect game, just one or tweaks here and there, and it could be a perfect racing game. i do miss the night time driving, and the ability to be the law enforcement, but still a great game.

Fantastic! This game is the best of NFS Underground 2 plus a bunch of new material. I love this game so far and I can't see an end in sight. The visuals are amazing, the music is great, and the cars sound very nice. I highly recommend picking up this game, it's worth the price. There's a lot of gameplay for the price. Great value.

Ugly graphics, non-physics racing, no AI, no innovation, bored programmers, bad port, no excitement. Strictly for under 18's with skin problems and no driving (or any mature) experience! EA buying all crap online game websites again :((

While this game has fun moments, the AI is absolutely useless. I was driving a Corvette C6, fully modified to ultimate with some custom extra parts (full stats on everything) and I couldn't keep up with a computer controlled fiat punto. On a straightway, doing 220 while blowing NOS, the fiat kept up and pulled away when nos ran out.

This is a good game, but has a few flaws. I just bought the game last month (Black Edition of course) driving fast in any car getting chased by the cops in excellent until you get to the high heat level especially 5 or 6, then it's hard to get rid of the cops behind you. I hate the drag racing, I get very fustrated, I get so pissed off with it I stop playing the game. The blurr when going at 200mph can be a pain in the neck, when there's a vehicle in front of you at that second. The game that I got crashes on me at least 5 to 7 times when playing it. I download the patch for it, doesnt work. The game graphic's are choppy and also freezes on me. It must be this game only, because I also got nfsu2 don't have a problem with that one, only this one. I can't turn the graphic's up on high because the games frame rate will go to a halt(won't work), so I had to keep it at low levels. I do like the big airs that are in the game. Mostly down by the docks, there great. But the overall game I give it a 6. Expand

What is there you don't like this game? All the racing scenes are cool. Well I have finished all the career and challenge race. At least the programmers has added the police pursuit, thanks to that spectular. Its very fun if u are in chase by police but i prefer the most difficult. Well, as for tuning shop u can buy the performance in order to upgrade and parts to customize your car series. As for car shop, u can buy car u like, the choice is yours. So if enjoy the NFS series, u wont have any problem but playing this game. Trust me, u be glad if u did. Expand

Most Wanted brings you the most action-packed street racing ever! Full of cops that are always on your trail and that darn Sgt. Cross! MW brings sleek graphics and the gameplay is excellent. You can roam in an open world and speed like mad. The tracks are great. There are some tricky ones which need a little strategy but that's a good part of the game. The selection of cars is wonderful. From your average Fiat Punto to a supercharged Porsche 911 Turbo! The blacklist is an exotic part of the game. 15 street racing maniacs to take down, top on the list being Razor - some dude who hijacked your BMW M3 GTR. The feel of speed is also magnificent. You can reach over 220 MPH while free roaming. The tollbooth races are also well done. The whole feel of racing against time... The only thing is how tracks can get repetitive and the police... VERY frustrating once you get to Razor... or Bull (sort of). But once you get to Razor, trust me, the police are gonna become extremely aggressive. I gave up on beating MW because of it. I only have one damn milestone left but I can't complete it due to police difficulty. Expand

NFS most wanted is a taste of the same. Chocolate for breakfast, chocolate for our mid day and it's easy to guess what there is for dinner. My point is, that, if smn has never played Nfs Underground 1 and 2 , then he might enjoy playing Most wanted. But now you'll say - There are no cops in the underground series. Yes, exactly, so what? Big deal, it's not as if it's an innovation. When I first played NFS hot pursuit - My god yes, that was a game, amazing graphics, fantastic though arcade gameplay lots lots of fun. Most wanted is a disgrase. EA's has been using the same ol' damn graphics engine for the three last nfs series. As far as I am concerned, a small free patch could have converted underground 2 to most wanted. But pls forgive my stupidity, in this way EA would not win million of bucks -as it will now. So, this is it, I'll be generous and give it a six. P.S I know that maybe my opnion wont count to anyone, you are still going to buy the game arent you? I know, because you dont have a choice... The good: There some fun to be had here, especially in the police pursuits. Hearing the police talking about you over their radios during chases is excellent. The 'bullet time' feature is a gimmick, but had its moments. Simple to play fun. The bad: The gameplay gets repetitive, the physics is too arcade-like and shallow, the characters are retarded, the actors take overacting to ridiculous new hights, the motion blur makes seeing anything incredibly difficult at very high speeds and can't be turned off, there are no difficulty settings, and the background music sucks. The ugly: Drag racing is terrible. Abysmal. You don't actually steer the car, you just choose when to change lanes and gears, which is retarded enough in itself. Not only that, cars pull out right in front of you from side streets, causing you to crash. In one race (a career race you can't skip) a van pulls out in just the right spot to block both lanes on the drag race every single time. And because of the retarded mechanics, you're stuck in your lane, so while the opponent can simply drive up onto the kerb and around it, you cannot. So you simply crash into it. Repeatedly. And swear in impotent rage. DRAG RACING IS TERRIBLE. It is so bad, you have to question if they even played the game before they released it. If drag racing was taken out completely, this game would get a 5. As it is, it gets a 1, and I reccommed that the programmers responsible for drag racing be taken out and made to repeatedly play drag races until they are sorry. Expand

I've read just about every review on this game. It seems like the negative reviews are from people who don't enjoy the challenge "you're in a drag race and a car pulls out" or "I'm driving my vette 200mph and a Fiat Punto passes me" or "the AI is stupid." If you're looking for a racing game with no challenges this isn't for you. Of the NFSU series, this is by far the best (I used to think NFSU2 was). The cars are a blast, the races are more challenging than the other 2 NFSU games and the police chases are a blast - a real rush. NFSU had too many driving glitches, NFSU2 was great, but became too repetitive. NFSMW isn't the "best game ever" but it is fun if you don't subscribe to the Homer Simpson philosophy of, "if it doesn't come easy, it isn't worth doing." Expand

WOW! Some of the bad reviews make me wonder if we're playing the same game... Linear-nope, you’ve got a whole city to explore if you care to; Repetitive-no more than any other racer; Motion blur-a matter of taste perhaps; Drag racing-Heck, I wish there was more of it... (and that one race with the van is a little challenging if you don't know how to brake, sure... but there is more than one pedal in a car last I checked) I hate to plug an EA title, but this game is a lot of fun. I’m talking like old school, play ‘til your eyes cross, pass me another Jolt caliber fun. At least that’s what it did to me... ^_^ Expand

this game is the best need for speed game that ea has released. the cops get really smart in the middle of the game, but that is o.k. because by then you have some really fast cars. all around the game is great. esspecially the graphics. need for speed most wanted black edition is worth the extra money because you get 2 bonus cars, more tracks and you can get up to seventh wanted level instead of the sixth wanted level that is in the basic game. one of the cars you get is 67 camaro that is awesome, especially if you like true american muscle and not just the same old foreign rice burners. Drag races were very, very tedious. Sometimes the pursuits/evasions with the police were very hard. I like difficulty, it makes a game more fun to play for a long time, unless it's too hard. Some of the drag races, due to the fact you really have to memorize where cars are, and how fast you have to be going at certain points, really, really frustrating. The spike strips on curves sucked a lot, too, as you can't control your car as well during turns. The game has beautiful graphics, with simulated HDR features, great textures, tons of detail, and a good sense of speed. The cars seemed, to me, to be very well represented in the game, painstakingly detailed. The storyline was, at best, retarded. However, it's nice to have a bit of a story to bring things together, instead of just racing for the hell of it. I mean, after the first race, I think everyone was interested, at least nominally, as you just had your pimp ride stollen by a skinny, white, weasle. Overall, I found it to be a lot of fun. It kept me entertained fairly well from start-to-finish, with only a few moments -- pursuit and drag -- where I was actually annoyed. The AI wasn't necessarily the brightest in the world, but it was smart enough to create a good difficulty level. So, as far as the AI, I thought they did a fairly decent job. Expand

An extremely well-made car (notice I did not call it racing) game. Although the races can be fun at times, they're usually too drawn out. The real attraction is the cop chases which are just a blast. You can disable the cop cars by ramming them hard enough (your car is indestructible) and dodging spike strips and helicopters is very exciting. Cool effects like the slow-mo are unnecessary but welcome nonetheless. The Black List is repetitive like heck, but makes for a lengthy career mode. The choice of cars is great and customization is very deep although I did not play NFS Underground. All in all, I was VERY pleasantly surprised by this game and played all the way to the top of the Black List along with several 25-minute plus police chases which are simply exhilirating. Fantastic game. Download the demo and then proceed to purchase. Expand

Of all the NFS games, this one certainly takes the cake. The world is simply stunning, the graphical flourishes can be breath taking and the sense of speed is impressive. The blacklist idea certainly isn't 'unique' but damn is it fun to whoop on those guys ! And the cop chatter is simply the best example of this i've ever seen, hands down. The only inovation in this game is the graphics. Everything else is a step in the wrong direction. In my opinion, games should be moving towards unlimited possibilities, not linear racing with almost no exploration. The gameplay is very limited, the racing feels sticky. Reminds me of Rad Racer.... If all you care about is graphics, this is the game for you.

The game is overall fun, yet you find yourself wanting to pick up the keyboard and hitting against the monitor when those dumb SUV's come head on and bust you eeevverrry frickin' time only to replay the event that took over an hour to accomplish... thanks EA for those SUV's. Good luck if you have a heat rating of 3 or higher... geesh. Also... there must be about a thousand or so styles of rims, but there's only 10 nice ones to choose from. I'm only half way through the game and i've gotten frustrated to the point where i don't want to play no more... pretty sad. Oh yeah, and the acting is pretty corny as stated in a previous review. I won't even bother to read the manual, don't know what it takes to win the race against the cops (in all the hot pursuit modes). But this game is too easy, I can speed for half an hour without getting caught by the cops in all the game modes and tracks/circuits. When I won the race and I don't even know what happened or what the rules are, I just keep on speeding around and around until I won! Too easy to master as how to outrun, evade and dodge the rocketeering cops ... but infact some of them (bulldog SUV 4x4 times two) shot into your sportcar like a rocket. This game is meant for arcade fun, only 2/5 of it is for realism. I can see how hard it is to make a decent game, well at least EA has tried and scored well for fun only. Still I see no Sea Harrier jump jet firing rockets. No good to keep the Maori waiting for their fried chicken, too long and them would strike with their fists on the counter. Let's hope these game makers are not white, because there are white supremacists out there who don't want to see any of their white *rses failed! Expand

Undeniably the best game in the series, IMO. The car customization is not as good as previous, but it doesn't really matter, I mean do I really NEED custom speakers and an LCD screen in my trunk? I thought not! Could really do with a deadzone config for gamepads, playing it on the 360 controller is about as fun as stabbing your eyes out with a blunt toothpick, but it's even worse on the Keyboard, so you have to live with it. Graphically it was a pretty game, but looks a tad tired in areas now. Main complaint is with the road textures, which were remarkably muddy, even by 2005 standards. I would whine on, but really I shouldn't, because it is a fantastic game worthy of high regard, and certainly one of my favorite arcade racers of all time. Expand

In Need For Speed Most Wanted like in previous two games you will be a street racer. But this time you will be an agent that turns into street racer. You will have a solid, quite big free roam. Your guide through the game will be Mia and Razor, the bad one who is just frightening you. There are some faster cars than the previous two games. The graphics are quite good. You have to defeat all 15 blacklist members, the first ones are easy to defeat but the later ones are harder to beat. Sadly though tuning is a bit worse than Need For Speed Underground 2. In this game there is police too. Someone will like it and someone not. Story is good and easy to understand. There are some cut scenes in this game but many of you wanted more of them. Without a full night of sleep and rarely played this game, on the Challenge Series 68/68 driving the green colored Lamborghini I lasted over 1 hour with $12M bounty, so this game is not hard at all. There are loop holes in this game, such as you can beat the police pursuits more easily by speeding past the inside of the sport stadium and the streets nearby. The first 10 minutes really makes me sleepy evading those white colored police Corvettes, as I needed to stopped still to wait for the cops driving the Corvettes to catch up with me once or twice per "lap". After the cops overshot a sharp turn I crawls in very low speed for another "bull fight", too many time the "bulls" overshot around a sharp turn. Pushing or lure the speedy cops into the opposite-lane traffics are fun and easy. Yes, they're only game makers, they're no the masterful game players, but I bet they'll be inhuman one day! Expand

A classic from the PS2 era of games, when it wasn't about fancy graphics or multiplayer, but fun arcadish gameplay. Cop chases, bounty and the races define this game. Customisation is there, too- both visually and performance-wise. Great fun. This game is what Need for Speed is all about. Customisation, cops and decent races which link nicely to the backstory.

Also, once you play a Need for Speed, you played all of them, from the very first to the most recent.
