Not only does New World Order not innovate or propel the genre anywhere new by offering anything new, it in fact counteracts the achievements of others by taking away the basics they used to deliver the quality they represent.
  2. The graphics are good, but cannot seem to compensate for the overall lack of gameplay depth, or the godawful framerates.
  3. Buggy and annoying engine, silly and repetitive level design, boring weapons, sophomoric textures and art, horrible sound, and a complete lack of fun.
  4. A game that simply attempts to cash in on the success of "Counter-Strike" and the "Rainbow Six" series by copying their themes, but it ends up falling well short of the mark because of its terrible graphics engine, its ill-conceived design, and a campaign that takes only a few hours to (nearly) complete.

With 12 missions of choppy, impossible to play through graphics, enemy AI which is apparently psychic and sound that is just plain bad, New World Order isn't a game you want in your library... or home... or state.

The single-player mode is a painful and sometimes laughable experience. Multiplayer fares much better, provided you can find people to play with online, but there are much better titles out there to choose from.
  7. A prime candidate for Coaster of the Year. You'll have more fun lobbing old potatoes at the squirrels in your yard than playing this mess. [July 2003, p.88]
  8. Problems with artificial intelligence cause foes to run in one place, refuse to shoot you at point-blank range, and opt out of taking cover. [July 2003, p.86]
  9. Horrendously bad. It makes you realise how spoilt we are with modern masterpieces like "Raven Shield," which combine realistic counter-terrorism with addictive gameplay and produce enjoyable scenarios for single and multiple players.

I wish I had visited metacritic before I bought this unplayable mess of a game.
