Players take command of an entire army including ground troops, artillery, tank divisions and aircraft in all-out strategic assaults. The single-player mode can be played out in two campaigns - American versus German forces on the western front and German versus Russian on the eastern front. Missions will be based on key historic events and operations from 1944. In the summer of 1944, the Second World War entered its end-game when the Allies launched two major operations that would drive back German forces on both the Western and Eastern Fronts at once. In the ultimate test of military strategy, ORDER OF WAR challenges you not only to lead America's finest to victory in the west, but also place you in command of German forces charged with repelling the Red Army’s seemingly unstoppable offensive in the east. Even the keenest military minds will find that it's one thing to make history, but quite another to change it. Do you have what it takes to command? Experience WWII warfare on an epic, cinematic stage; that truly captures the intensity and scale of the battlefield. Command of an entire armed force consisting of up to 1,000 soldiers, tanks, armored vehicles, artillery and air planes. Players can choose between two different campaign modes offering completely different storylines, missions, objectives and environments. Experience the unique dynamic camera that allows players to command troops over huge geographical scale whilst maintaining movie-like vistas and detail. In-depth gameplay mode: two different campaign modes, multi-player, Deathmatch and Skirmish. [Square Enix] Expand

While it does have a few shortcomings (mostly in the pacing), Wargaming.net really has a lot to build on with Order of War, and I would be thrilled to see a follow up -- perhaps even one taking place in the Pacific Theatre.

Order of War is a good game. Not a great game, but a good one. It doesn’t bring anything revolutionary to the table, but it still offers a fun, quick and friendly romp into war-torn Europe.
  3. Maybe is not the deepest RTS in the market, but Order of War is definitely capable of performing great graphics and a nice gameplay.
  4. Order of War doesn’t require superhuman reflexes, leaving you enough time to plan your strategy, type a message in the text chat window, play about with the “cinematic camera” and so on. It looks like nobody at Wargaming believed in the multiplayer mode, but in the end it is more compelling than the single-player campaigns. All in all, Order of War is an outlet for experienced players and an object of derision for juvenile “hardcore gamers”.
  5. This simple real-time strategy game isn't original, but it's a lot of fun.

Order of War does little to justify a purchase above the likes of the truly great recent RTS efforts out there, giving gamers a short distraction before returning to the big guns of the genre.
  7. Order of war is irrefutable proof pretty Panzers are no longer enough. [Dec 2009, p.91]

Just wanted to share my opinion about this game. I found it rather attractive and nice-looking. The SP sucked me in from the first mission. I Just wanted to share my opinion about this game. Everything looks so real when on high settings. Definitely wants an add-on or sequel Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Banlance not good enough, GER units too expensive and its abilities really not good enough, especially compared with USA and USSR units(tanks much cheaper and still powerful). It's the most serious point.
So in multi games, ppl almost choose USA or USSR,not GER,because its really much easier to get win, even the same one with the same skill. People who like to choose USA or USSR may give the game higher grades, because it's easy to win and the game with good graphic performance, but ppl who like to choose GER would be very dissapointed to the balance, and finally left. At least many friends i know left the game for the major reason.
