  • Summary: A comprehensive baseball simulation that offers multiple play options, a career mode, an exhaustive financial model, an open-ended design allowing you to completely customize your gaming experience, and much more. Try to build a dynasty with your favorite team through trading, acquiring free agents and making good selections in the amateur draft. Play consecutive seasons and follow the careers of your players as they develop, age and retire. Or, use Out of the Park Baseball's connectivity with The Baseball Archive to create your own "season disks," and replay any single season in baseball history. You can even combine history and fantasy by creating a new career league that starts with a historical season from baseball's past, and moves forward through a future that you shape! The email system is the new way that an owner is given important breaking information, trade requests. The system is absolutely dynamite...The premiere text baseball sim on the market. Check it out.
  2. The best baseball game around period. Graphics can only do so much and this simulation is top notch in gameplay and delivery. If you are an avid baseball fan you need to check out this game.
  3. A refreshing break from typical graphics-oriented games.
  4. Addictive as a single-player experience and flat-out irresistible while playing in an online league, it shouldn't be missed.
  5. The interface of this game has been stream lined and is quite intuitive. The functionality tends to be well organized and rides the line between useful and overcrowded quite well.
  6. While OOTP4 has a few interface issues and suffers from a bare-bones graphical and sound approach, its entertainment value should leave you in the ball game for quite a while.
  7. For those that love the game, enjoy the behind-the-scenes management, embrace the mental challenge, like the statistical bombardment, and thrive on situational strategy, this is the game for you.

This game has it all, is about as close to perfect as I have seen. Very flexible for the user.

I've never been a big fan of baseball sims, and have seen most of them fail. But this is one of the best ever, with e-mail notifications and other neat stuff. Since I'm not a huge fan of these kinds of games, it's only an eight, but a respectable one at that. Expand
