The game is superb. It isn't much different from the previous version, but many of the slight glitches and issues with that version have been resolved, and a few new features have been added that take the game beyond where it has been. Game Over Online is crazy. 7/10 for this game is a joke. There is no better text sim or sim in general of baseball.

After nine versions, there is no question that OOTP is firmly atop the baseball general manager simulation heap. For new players this is stellar material despite its issues, but longtime fans and especially those who own last year's game need to weigh their options a bit more closely. OOTP 9 is worth the $40 upgrade, but just barely.
  2. At the end of the day, playing a game that so closely mimics the real thing is all you can hope for. Out of the Park 9 is hands down one of the best baseball sims I’ve ever laid eyes on, and I can’t wait to finish this review so I can play more.
  3. I think if you really took the time to delve into and test out the game’s options, then you could make it effective at simulating a modern Major League season, and if you're interested in other leagues (like the Japanese or Mexican leagues) or in historical leagues, then OTPB9 is just about the only option out there.
