  1. The mixture of action, stealth, and minigames will keep your attention for the game's direction. The solid gameplay is made better because of the excellent presentation.
  2. Bottom line: Over the Hedge was fun for tweens, but better for the bottom end of the ESRB rating.
  3. There's no camera control/But don't be so droll/You've still got a prayer/In head-to-head multiplayer. [Aug 2006, p.91]
  4. The humor and style of the film translate well here and are helpful in filling the gaps where the simplistic gameplay and rushed mini-game mode fall short.

Over the Hedge is entertaining enough to hold its own, and that is a victory in itself.
  6. The game is not terrible. It is just terribly familiar and lacks replay value - except for trying to play it multiple times to see how fast you can do it.
  7. A few unique touches are overshadowed by crushingly dull gameplay in this perfunctory animated movie tie-in.
  8. It is what it is…a fairly mediocre game aimed at being a marketing plug on a movie franchise. With those expectations it succeeds, and for a random afternoon of whack a mole with a turtle and a golf club it's enjoyable.
