I love being able to talk like a pirate each and every day. Now that I have found my way through the combat system, I am a fan, pure and simple. Anyone who has a bent for strategic game play and goofy pirate jokes will adore this game.

This game is very good, even if it is mostly kids MMO, people of all ages play it. The strategy in this game is amazing and I really liked the idea of flying ships for kids. It's like Wizard101 but has better graphics and it is more fun and has more humor. The companion thing is very interesting, training them, leveling up, choosing new talents, etc.
So far i really recommend this game for everyone.

Pirate101 is a MMORPG that is for everyone, it doesn't matter if you're 5 or 50. Heck you could be 105 and still can play it.

    When you
start the game, you become a Pirate who is needed to help stop major Armada villains. The Armada, an elite advanced robot race, who thinks that they are superior and anyone below that should be destroyed. And of course, you are needed to defeat them and stop them from enslaving everyone. The story line is one of the best that I've read. It's filled with intrigue, puns, funny characters and more!

You can learn class abilities from five classes you can choose from which you use to cast at enemies. You can be a dashing Swashbuckler who is great at moves. Or a Buccaneer who likes to smash things. If you like spooky things, you could be a Witchdoctor who casts Hoodoo spells. Or even a Privateer who likes to boost and heal. If you like to shoot things, you could be a Musketeer.

This game is such a beautiful game really. The worlds are just breathtaking. You can travel to Cool Ranch, a Wild West world, where you can meet the Magnificent Seven and El Toro! Or Aquila, an mythic Greek inspired world, where the Greek gods become a part of the story. This game has tons of great puns or references to movies, bands, songs, etc etc. For instance, El Toro is a bull with a mask who cuts a "T" in the air with his whip just like Zorro. You also get to meet familiar pirate characters like Ratbeard who is literally a rat with a beard. Or Catbeard who again is a Cat who loves sardines. Bonnie Anne, a beautiful female fox who's quite handy with a gun.

It's a highly enjoyable game that you can play with your parents, children, and grandchildren. Don't worry, this game even has parental controls that you can use to control how your child or grand child can speak in-game. This prevents them from seeing words that they are not allowed to say or see.

When you start the game, you can play part of the first world, Skull Island, for free before having to pay for a subscription which is pretty cheap. It's only $10 per month for 100% access to all of its areas and worlds. Or you can purchase crowns, an in-game currency with real money. You can use crowns to buy areas in the game. Once bought, the area is forever yours!

I can't even think of any downsides to this game to be honest. This game has plenty of content. You can level up your companions who make your crew. Yes you even have your own crew. Not only that, you have your own ship! You can farm for special parts to make your ship speedy and powerful. You can also battle other ships to gain nautical experience. You can hatch, raise and train your pets to be useful in battle. There's tons of super cool gear pieces all over the worlds that it gives you plenty of options where you want to farm and what for. And it does have practice PvP which is fun for those who wants to use their pirate wits against other Pirates! There's no time to get bored between major content releases. You have plenty of things to do.

This company is very kind to its customers, they try to listen and improve the game upon feedback. They strongly believe in the idea that families should play together, even over distance. I have met in-game pirates who were grandparents, parents, relatives and children who were all playing together. This game was a perfect vehicle for them to keep in touch and have fun together, even though they live states or even countries apart.

Go give it a try. If you like pirates, you sure will like this game!

THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I happen to enjoy this game a lot better than Wizard101! Good bye weakness! Be a Swashbuckler and inflict damage and use speed for offense! With the downside of low health. Be a Musketeer and become a sharpshooter that attacks from range! Be a Witchdoctor and use magic! (But it's NOTHING like Wizard101) Be a Buccaneer and become a tank! I think Buccaneer is a HORRIBLE class though. Be a Privateer and be a support for your team! Collect companions as your way to help you in battles! Sail a ship! There's 2 problems in this game though, 1. Quests may take you to kill a bunch of things, but Wizard101 was worst. 2. Can take money quickly. The free trial isn't so bad either! At least you get to do ONE dungeon compared to Wizard101, which was horrible as a free trial. I LOVE this game! Expand

This game is certainly better than Wizard101 for the ages 11-15 and better developed than Wizard101 and feels fresher. The combat system is a turn-based strategy combat where you control your character and 3 members from their crew, who have extensive range of abilities and fight groups of enemies. The questing and storyline is great and ordered and the target audience will enjoy it. The zones are great, too, but some feel a bit too small to be enjoyable. The game is more advanced, thus suiting better for older kids. This game is better, in my opinion, than Wizard101 in almost every way possible. Expand
