Pivvot strikes a wonderful balance between frustration and elation. What seems impossible at first soon becomes second nature as you gradually get to grips with the game's devilish designs. The overall challenge level isn't quite the same as that found in the game's obvious inspirations, but this is nevertheless a game that you won't be able to walk away from until you've truly mastered it.
Even if the game isn't particularly deep, Pivvot knows what it is and feels like a complete experience; there are no in-app purchases to be found here. You'll need to unlock extra modes the old-fashioned way: by trying over and over again until, just when you're ready to call it quits "forever," you finally overcome the challenge.
Games like Pivvot make absolute fools of people who think iOS isn’t a legitimate gaming platform. It’s hugely addictive, and brings out the competitive side in everyone but, best of all, it gets people talking, which is worth celebrating.
Compulsive and beautifully tuned, Pivvot is a tense, nervy challenge to relish.
An addictive, brilliantly designed blast of twitch and score-chasing, Pivvot is a wonderful way to waste a few hours.
Pivvot is an interesting homage to Super Hexagon that proves simultaneously easier and more challenging.
The minimalist audio/visual style is a nice enough way of presenting the game, but the fun factor here is just as minimalist as everything else.
