  1. The only thing preventing me from scoring this graphics masterpiece in the 90’s was the somewhat weak storyline and the tedium that got me down on more then one occasion.
  2. A nice-looking and solid dungeon crawl that offers a viable alternative to the excellent range of PC RPGs out there.
  3. The interface is also not particularly logical with many character actions being accessible only after you have waded through a number of submenus. This is annoying and will drive you to distraction in combat, until you get the hang of the hot keys.
  4. Its uninspired dungeons, two-dimensional characters, repetitive gameplay and frustrating technical problems make this one not worth the time or the money.
  5. The game just has so many problems that I don’t think future patches will help it any.
  6. Looks like a tremendous mistake.
  7. If the mind-numbing battles and drab scenery haven’t already turned you off, don’t worry—there’s still the annoying interface to send you over the edge. [Jan 2002, p.113]

I give this game a ten because I have been playing it for a month and haven't gotten bored of it yet. I'm on my third way through if beating it, and it's still exciting as when I first played it. Expand

This is one of the best RPG games ever, don't buy into the reviews.
There are no bugs at all, This game is one of my favorites of all times.

Problems are aplenty, (lack of story and npcs in general, clunky interface and so on) but that sweet turn based d&d tactical awesomeness added a lot of depth to simple "me vs. zombie nr. 135 and Co." scenarios and pretty much outweighed all those flaws for me. Expand

Too slow and repetitive. The storyline, poor as it already is, gets too often fracturated by the uninspired fight system. It's a pity actually. It could have been something interesting. Collapse

Uninspired D&D knockoff. Once you get past the intial pains of the firsts dungeons the game does have some twists worth playing.

Boring, tedious little game. Buy any number of good D&D based RPGs before this one. The only reason this game even existed was to show off the new 3.0 ruleset for D&D based games, and it did it poorly. The sounds are lackluster, the gameplay is clunky and unresponsive, the role-playing aspects are nearly non-existant and the story is un-engaging. If that combination doesn't make a bad game, I don't know what does. Skip this. Expand

Game is not playable due to technical problems and bugs. Patched did not help and UbiSoft tech support is absolutely the worst I've ever encountered. By the way do not buy anything from UbiSoft if you have any OS other than Win95, 98 or ME. They are not made to run on anything else. I have WinME which is a supported OS and they still tell me that no tech support is available for Win 2000. I will never buy anything by UbiSoft again. Expand
