Power & Revolution, also known as Geo-Political Simulator 4, is a unique game that allows the player to be the head of state of one of more than 150 countries. Unfortunately, like the previous versions, it has an awkward interface and has many bugs.
Politics are a cumbersome topic for a game. But on top of that Power & Revolution tries its best to push you away. The interface is plain ugly, the consequences of your actions and decisions are vague. And on top the devs weren’t able to decide if they want to go down the serious or the joking path. You will need more than patience to fathom the depths of this newest iteration of the geopolitical simulator.
Geopolitical Simulator 4 aka Power and Revolution is the fourth installment in the Geopolitical Simulator series. Power and Revolution puts you in the shoes of the head of a state or a country with the focus of extending your influence on the world.
Because of lots of features, realism, uniqueness in its genre (political simulator), the game CAN'T be discriminated because of bugs and a terrible UI.
There's no other game offering the same political experience: you can manage almost 150 different countries with any government type, you can manage also singular units in territories, make alliances, change any law, conquer nations, manage national relationships, secret services and internal disorders... and so on.
By spending for DLCs, you can also enable mods like God'n Spy (to use tricks and easily win) and Modding Tool (edit entire world scenarios and play them).
I really love both.
Democracy 3 would be a good "rival", but its conception is enough different (there's no direct interaction with the country, less options and more boredom).
Why much people criticize this game?
At first because it's much complex to get properly played, even for me.
Then because the game sounds like a "reconditioned" product: still using Xvid libraries (in 2017?), graphic look is outdated (especially menus), many options are confused and some dialogs are difficult to get understood.
Regarding bugs (as of 6.30 patch): screen tearing, crash after almost an hour of gameplay, slow UI under certain circumstances, infos disappearing.
Also some imprecisions (my town is replaced by another one in a wrong position!).
Games like Power and Revolution should be constantly updated with world and scenarios enhancements/bugfix.
Like other reviewers said, Everism needs to build from scratch a better and almost bug-free simulator.
The game has MANY bugs and they did not even bother to search about the countries, for example: in Portugal the district of Faro is together with the district of Beja and the district of Évora.
Cheap game. Not worth buying. Controls and save system are desastrous. Illogical things, like being thrown out of your party even if you have high popularity, recolted a lot of money for the party and pretty much followed what the party would want. Also pretty boring after you became president.
Slightly reskinned masters of the world with a new combat feature and bug fixes.
Most of the highlighted features of the games are just bug fixes from the previous titles and should have not been charged for. This is just a patch for a previous game with more detailed world leader textures and very minimal combat changes. The only major functionality change of the game is the ability to see inside the city on a 2.5D sort of map to control soldier movement.
SummaryIn Power & Revolution, become a Head of State of one or several countries of your choice and extend your influence on the world, or play as a legal or illegal opposition leader and get ready for the conquest to power.
