  • Summary: The 2008 edition features improved racing graphics, a new lighting system, more detailed backgrounds and incredibly realistic rider models and animations. The management aspect also offers more depth and realism due to the new tools and systems available. Plus, for the first time, you can now compete in professional track cycling. 1. To achieve the title “Best cycling manager game” is quite easy with lack of any competition but nevertheless Pro Cycling Manager 2008 is quite a good game. Owners of previous version will be disappointed by the minimum-to-none changes since last year. [Aug 2008]
  2. The same procedure as every year – Pro Cycling Manager 2008 offers identical features to last year including only some small changes. Tough managing your own cycling team and win the Tour de France might be fun at first, this changes after having played through one season.
  3. In the end, PCM will be of little interest to most people. It has a few reasonable, sometimes even interesting ideas, but manages to execute very few to the level of similar games on the market. [Oct 2008, p.65]
  4. It hangs together. [Oct 2008, p.63]
  5. The fact is, you must bring so much effort to the PCM equation - a simple interest in bikes won't do - that it's hard to think of it as a game. It's hard to think of it at all. [Sept 2008, p.95]
  6. If you're so deep into professional cycling that you'd want to play a game where you navigate sterile menus and tell other people how to ride bikes, then there may be some small morsels of enjoyment to be found here, provided you accept that your own enthusiasm will be picking up the slack for a drab and technically sloppy game.
  7. It's as much fun as cycling up the wrong side of the M5. [Sept 2008, p.115]

Are you the kind of person that really enjoys riding bicycles, but abhors the idea of getting off of your semen-stained, crumb-riddled lazy boy and actually getting on a **** bike? Do you dream of biking out in the sun with other cycle enthusiasts in exotic locations around the world, but are an apathetic, albino, schizophrenic, outcast with chronic narcolepsy? Do you love masturbating to tight-clothed professional cyclists, but hate having to chase them down just to get off? Well this is the game for you. Collapse
