  • Summary: The first official expansion pack for "Quake 3" includes several new capture-the-flag and deathmatch maps, and now teams can design their own skins and logos as well as choose from different character heads.

  1. A great add-on for fans of the Quake series and multiplayer mayhem. This is a must have for the frag fanatic.
  2. As an add-on pack, Team Arena rocks. It adds everything I wanted to see in "Quake III Arena," but wasn't actually there.
  3. A polished, tried and true gameplay experience, that, while not necessarily the most innovative, is a heck of a lot of fun.
  4. Though its new features may not seem remarkable individually, when put together they comprise a number of interesting new strategies and also let experienced players organize team-based games based on those strategies.
  5. What it was designed to do, it does very well. It barely makes a pretense of doing anything else, however—extra bells and whistles are definitely not part of the package.
  6. This should have been included with the original game, or as a free download a month or two after Q3A came out.
  7. While the power-ups are well done and Harvester and One Flag CTF are a lot of fun, this expansion pack will more than likely collect dust instead of frags.

I can propse u to try some mods like TrueCombat (Total conversion : realistic mods ) totally submersif ans addictive. TrueCombat have now a young brother : TC:Elite on Wolfestein ( using Q3 3D motor) but i prefer q3 original and Truecombat for the design and the player movement realist ..just try it and u ll be conquer. I gave it an 8 because it really is a fast paced action shooter. I think I have an answer for Peter K. though. Compared to other games out at I gave it an 8 because it really is a fast paced action shooter. I think I have an answer for Peter K. though. Compared to other games out at the time, like unreal 3, Quake 3 Arena was an improvement, only over it's other Quake games. And it was coming out around the time people were expecting improvements over gaming, Im sure. Unreal 3 especially had a much better look. Quake 3 Arena was more like the first Unreal Tournament. While, the graphics are dated, it has a lot of intersting character choices and arenas. I love playing the DoomGuy. Another downside though, I wish the taunts were more realistic to what they were. Like the DoomGuy had DOOm related taunts. Its at least better than playing the Dreamcast version. But graphically it has its ups and downs. Expand

It adds next to nothing to the already existing experience and essence of Q3 when it's standalone. Combined, it could have been fun and had a lot of potential, but sadly that didn't happen. This "game" is not good in its own right, as it basically is an expansion pack or a mod for Q3. That's why it's not going to have more than an 8. Expand
