  • Summary: Judgment day is at hand, and it's time for a showdown with the guy downstairs to bargain for Bosco's soul. But in the corporate wasteland known as Hell, not even the Freelance Police are safe from eternal damnation. Can Sam & Max fight free from Satan's grasp, or have they reached the end of the line? 1. The plot this time is loaded with not so surprising reversals and twists. As Sam & Max veterans we have learned by now to expect the unexpected. Perhaps we have become jaded. Like Max, we like it that way.
  2. I enjoyed this last episode more so than any of the others. The humor hit my funny bone dead on, and I enjoyed seeing all the stuff littered around the locations from the previous episodes.
  3. Proves that they had planned out this season’s overarching story line with an unassumingly meticulous style. Even the smallest throwaway from previous episodes makes sense in the end.
  4. The price tag for these games feels about right for the number of hours that come out of them, and I find myself going back and replaying earlier episodes, which helps me to feel that I got the bang I want for my buck.
  5. The second season has increased the difficulty with each episode, and Beelzebub has some really tricky puzzles.
  6. It's funny, its puzzles are satisfying, and, as Anthony mentioned, is a fine example of episodic gaming's potential.
  7. The artists are on form, even if the writers are coasting. [June 2008, p.89]
