Samurai 2: Vengeance has improved by leaps and bounds over the original, and has evolved into an extremely satisfying action hack and slash game.
Overall, Samurai 2 Vengence is a very solid game that shows the potential of the kinds of games the iDevices can handle despite lacking the processing power of a PC or modern console.
With an incredible graphic, Samurai 2: Vengeance shows once again the power of iPhone. It could be considered a normal hack and slash, but the story, music and level design give to the game an added value. Gore and violence are present, but the anime-style makes the slow-motion final moves like an artistic view of the death.
Samurai II will test your skill, smarts, and patience, but you should have a lot of fun along the way.
Samurai II: Vengeance is a sharp, stylish action game that could use more diverse level design, but is undeniably entertaining.
The enemy onslaught is intense from the outset, which might be more tolerable if Samurai II could be played with hard buttons. Instead, players are forced to aim for the same smear of finger oil on a glass screen, with no tactile feedback. As a result, missed hits abound.
Despite their distinctive art style, Madfinger makes amateur mistakes with Samurai II that show they're not quite ready for the jump from mobile to the big leagues.
