I have absolutely nothing against SanctuaryRPG; the game is fantastic!
The OST is lovely -- something I often listen to outside of the game -- and the ASCII is truly fun to look at. The characters and colors used are both fitting and appealing.
Also, the crafting feels very interactive. SanctuaryRPG maintains a level of "luck" or gambling through drops and loot, but I feel like I have a lot of control in the types of crafting procedures that I want to "try my luck" in, such as swapping quality and durability (the two main stats in crafting, where quality increases the overall value of a piece of equipment) to see if I can get the former to an even higher value at the crafting station.
In terms of customization, the lack of emphasis on appearance customization feels appropriate for the art style (there *are* images of gender/class in the beginning of the game), and the wide variety of class, race, equipment, and play style options makes this game fairly limitless. Each build has specific racial or class-based effects that trigger off of skills or a specific stat, so there really is value in experimenting with unusual forms of play style.
As for "customer service," couldn't have asked for a more supportive group of developers. If I have questions, I am answered immediately and bugs are fixed almost equally as fast. I am very impressed with SanctuaryRPG's overall performance.
Incredibly enjoyable RPG with top quality humour, involving mechanics and some of the best ASCII-based graphics ever created. Everyone should at least give it a try -- it's free.
Considering that you get so much playtime out **** that could easily be sold (with a little polish), there's no real reason to not love the game. Play it if you're vaguely interested in RPGs or Roguelikes. Even if you're not, maybe give it a chance; the humor will get to you.
Awesome game with an amazing visual aesthetic. I was introduced to this game by a friend and the game is still very fun even after about 20 hours of play. Would recommend to anyone vaguely interested in RPGs.
Amazing Devs that are willing to go far above what normal people desire. I swear there is a new patch every hour announcing "1000! new items!!!"
God Bless.
An amazing rogue-like rpg that you can spend hours playing. The two things that are the best about the game is the ASCII art and the ost. A great throw back game and a great game for anyone new to text based games to play.
A very fun little rogue-like adventure game which features a beautiful chip-tune soundtrack and very nicely done ASCII graphics. Plenty of replay-ability with the 6 current character classes and entertaining story-line. All things considered, a very fun way to spend a few hours, especially if you would like a little gaming nostalgia.
