  1. This action adventure is just like the movies: dark, bloody and always copying itself. The villain of the game and his plots are the game’s greatest asset. But there’s not enough substance behind the great presentation.
  2. Imaginative traps and terrifying Jigsaw make Saw: The Videogame surprisingly playable matter. If you liked the original movie you will enjoy the game equally.
  3. Saw fails to deliver the suspenseful crescendos, surprising twists, and apprehensive atmosphere of the films. Instead, it’s padded with unremarkable gore, poor pacing, and uninspired level design. [Issue#199, p.101]
  4. If Saw were a scary game, we would have given it a free pass for clumsy action and silly endings. Alas, there is nothing to be afraid of in the dark. After a couple of rooms, you’ll be ready for anything.
  5. Jigsaw's game are meant to be cruel, barbaric, horrific and pedantic, but this game is just plain tedious. [Jan 2010, p.79]
  6. With some ropey PC controls, SAW's something of a gory stinkpot. [Apr 2010, p.90]

"SAW 1.5" would fit this better, because it ties in some unsolved mysteries within the first and third film. You are able to discover what happens to Tapp, and those around him. Many of the traps are reintroduced from the films. The voice acting earns a solid average, it is not bad but it's not good either. SAW is about puzzles, and puzzles you will have! In fact, there is close to no action and all solving. Puzzels from the interesting to the down right absurd. SAW's combat system is broken completly, but do not worry, it is easy to master! All-in-all SAW is a below average game for the regular gamer due to some bugs, controls and story. Die hard SAW fans (like myself) will be happy to know that it keeps true to it's theme and will not dissapoint. Full Review »

    Don't need to write a review - RC64 does a fi
    ne job of it.

Don't waste your money on this game. It has some of the worst design decisions for a horror game and a PC port I've ever experienced. The game's story is so flimsy and tired that it wouldn't even pass as C grade horror. It's not even good B movie material. It makes ludicrously awful game.

I'll never get why so much fuss about this movie...I didn't really enjoy it....so just because I don't want to be that harsh I will give it a 5...I have no much more to say about Saw...the sense of horror after all is very personal... Full Review »
