  • Summary: An all-new expansion pack, Warlords pays homage to some of history's greatest military leaders, delivering six new scenarios, giving players the chance to change the course of history with the help of their new powerful "warlord" unit. The expansion pack is loaded with new civilizations, new leaders and more units, resources and wonders that can be used in both single and multiplayer games. [2K Games] Collapse

  1. Warlords adds even more to a game that started out great and only continues to be an excellent turn based strategy game.
  2. Warlords isn't as huge an expansion pack as some of the previous Civilization titles have had, but it's the best balanced, most refined expansion pack a Civilization title has ever had, and it carries more than enough new content to justify the purchase price.
  3. Civilization IV Warlords will please all but the most pacifistic of Civilization players.
  4. The reason it falls short of a fantastic expansion is that it does not influence the main single player game as much as I would have liked.
  5. If you're sick of beating swords into ploughshares in plain-Jane Civ IV campaigns, Warlords is the cure. [Oct. 2006, p.72]
  6. For Civ players, Warlords will be a great addition. [Sept. 2006, p.99]
  7. In short, there's a lot of game here but none of it immediately demands you buy it, unless you just need a few new things to insert into Civ 4 to justify returning to it. In which case, hey - go do it. Civ 4's awesome.

There is not many updates in this "expansion pack", but it makes the game perfect. It became more realistic, more enjoyable and more addictive. Everyone should try it, it's worth it. It's recommended for everyone. Expand

When I heard that an expansion pack is coming out, I was afraid it might be a rip-off... Boy, was I wrong. Very nice.

Improved a lot(especially music and gameplay). New stuffs are really awesome and make the game even more addictive. I really can't stop playing Civ 4 now :D Expand

A solid addition to Civ 4. But if you were looking for more scenarios, be warned - they aren't so hot. The scenarios are just plain boring - with the exception of one where you play as the barbarians. Expand

Excellent expansion to the wonderful CIV4! Civilizations are more balanced (the Americans were a little too powerful in CIV4 with their leader's abilities). Moreover, online playing speed improved and there are much more match type available. Expand

It's still the great civilization game, altough the warlords version doesn't add very much to the actual gameplay.
