Jun 13, 20138With great story, combat system, actions, vibrant open-world and an addictive gameplay; sleeping dogs is definitely worthy of comparing with other similar great games such as GTA IV. I really love this game and cant get tired of playing again and again. This game definitely deserves to be played.

Apr 30, 20138Good game, nice graphics and gameplay. I love the menu style, the producers made well.
I get some problems and bugs. I have an AMD RAdeon HD 7970 and get so much blue screen of the death runing that game.
I solve the problema changing the graphic drivers to an old one, belive that, i have to make a downgrade.
The game consumes a lot of recurses, without reason. -
Apr 26, 20139The game-play is great. The environment is beautiful. Wei is a BOSS. Has a mixture of lots game types; Hand to Hand combat, gunfights, racing, gambling, hacking etc. But unfortunately a very sad face for the dodgy console port, it is basically impossible to play with keyboard and mouse.

Mar 17, 20139THE SLEEPING DOGS HAVE AWAKEN!
I love open-word sandbox games. This game is a great addition to the genre.
Pros
-Detailed, immersive city
-Engrossing characters
-Satisfying combat -Very good story
-Voice acting is mostly top-notch
Cons
-Cityscape somewhat repetitive
-Some grinding required (by-passable through DLC)
-Initially character is is rather weak.
All in all a great romp! -

Mar 12, 20134It looks nice most of the time. Really disappointing though. It was fun at first but after a couple hours I felt totally unmotivated and uninterested in any of it. I had that gut feeling and should have known better, but still got it.
If you have that gut feeling that this won't be the game for you then listen to yourself and just pass on it. -

Feb 25, 20133Just got this game and it crashes at startup. This seems to be a relatively common problem at the moment, so I'd recommend holding off buying this for now. I'll change the score when I can actually play the game, and also give an actual review.

Feb 19, 20138Although you are restricted from being able to always carry firearms, I personally enjoyed it a lot, very mischievous with a little Grand Theft Auto tossed in there, I recommend

Jan 30, 20133it was a good game until it started crashing (started crashing only after 2 days of having purchased it on steam)... the game sadly no longer works for me and its impossible to play due to this issue. I would NOT recommend this game...

Jan 19, 20139after a rocky launch squenix proved that they care about their customers and continue to patch the game (version 1.9 already!) its a great pc port with great performance, great voice acting, and good looking textures. and the melee fighting system is amazing.

Jan 8, 20138I liked this game. Good graphic (for console port), unusual but comfortable controls, good story (but maybe too short and hasty to the ending). Problems lie in a lot of glitches, bugs, small inconveniences in gameplay (disappearing weapons after a sleep, savepoints linked to hideouts and so on).

Dec 21, 20125This Is Great Game With A Best Graphic . But It have many bugs. For a open world game it has a not-large maps like grand theft auto san andreas .

Dec 3, 20127Sleeping Dogs has a stronger and more mature plot when compared to the many GTA clones out there and even pulls off a combat system that hits more than it misses. However, it ultimately suffers from the same pitfalls as its genre stablemates which means your enjoyment of the game depends on whether you find the mini-games and side quests fun.

Nov 30, 201210The model of the open world games. There are some points:the skill trees(ok maybe not tress),suitable fighting system and much more.If it has an awesome worldview i think it's status can be viewed with TES series.

Nov 14, 20129For me, one of the best Games of 2012. Its not perfect, it has some problems but its really fun if you like Open World Games. The Melee-Combat System is the best part of the game by far and you can unlock alot of new Moves, so thats really cool.

Nov 6, 20129sleeping dogs is said to clone of gta.........part of it yes but it had something that lacks in gta for me...fighting is a top notch resembles batman series but good with martial arts and brutal finishers...gun fights are pretty amazing for me with cinematic sequences....on a whole this is a pretty good sand box game that you might wanna try

Oct 23, 20125Would have been a fantastic game if the devs concentrate on the strength and weakness of the PC. As it stands, this is just another **** console port - from graphics to gameplay to controls, it keeps on reminding me where it has come from. A little more dedication and it would have gotten a 8+ score just on the back of the story. Bottom line: Average.

Oct 22, 20126I have lots of issues with crashes on load, and crashes midgame. LA Noire meets Grand Theft Auto. Music is dull gangsta rap only. Gameplay gets a bit repetitive just like LA Noire. You can tell it was made for console by the way the controls "work". Camera angles and control of camera are also quite irritating.
If they could make it more stable this would be a nice sandbox game. -

Oct 12, 20129I decided to go with this after enjoying saints row 3. this game is fantastic, story is ok, the gameplay is good, fighting is like batman AC and its extremely violent. The graphics are also great especially the city landscape.
control wise, i played on a Xbox controller which i think its best suited to -

Oct 10, 20129It may not be quite as sophisticated as GTA IV, but the unique setting, solid gun play, and exceptional melee combat make this a worthwhile experience for anyone who enjoys modern day sandbox games.

Oct 6, 201210Sleeping Dogs has overtaken GTA as the pinnacle of its genre. A massively underrated game, and a must-buy for anyone with love for these types of games.
-
Oct 4, 20127This game is a good alternative while waiting for GTA5. Story is the strongest asset in this game especially those who are into gangs and brotherhoods. Side quest are meaningless and repetitive. The game makers do not really care about the side quest i feel. But main quest story and character interaction is top notch.

Oct 3, 201210Once again another with control issues yet I like it. The story is simply amazing, a lot of mini-games gameplay are fun, especially the when you fight enemies hand to hand combat. In my experience the game is a mix of Max Payne, Batman Arkham City, Saints Row The Third, Gears of War.

Sep 9, 20123Hate to say it but this game is total trash in my honest opinion. Story is okay, but the camera and controls are just sluggish and complete crap. I feel like I wasted 50 dollars for this terrible game. Do not purchase this game.
-
Sep 8, 20120Waste of my money, i have played for for many years with arrow keys, but you cant remap arrow keys for some unforgivable reason. Just cant immerse in a game when the controls feel awkward. I don't know if the story is good or the graphics, and i don't care. If the game play is horrible the game horrible.
-
Sep 7, 20129Compelling story and good open world action with a very nice and unique setting. Above average graphics too. No control problems and game breaking bugs whatsoever. Definitely worth your money.

Sep 5, 20128This is my favourite of the GTA-style sandbox games. The main reason is the very estute move of (almost) replicating the superb fighting mechanics from the recent Batman games. As a result, hand to hand combat is very satisfying. The departure from a US environment is also very refreshing.
-
Sep 4, 20128I got It because it was suppose to be a decent PC port, and it was, except for the controls. I your used to a game pad then you should be fine. The story is short and the world isn't exactly huge but it's ok.

Sep 4, 20129Must have game for all GTA/SR fans. Superb gameplay, graphics and works smoothly with almost any pc. The best looking action game up-to-date. Only thing that I did not like, was the lack of DLC.

Sep 1, 20123This game could have been really good, graphics look ok but i just could not get past the **** controls and run of the mill fighting moves. It tells you what to press on the screen but even following the on-screen instructions the moves sometimes do not come off. I would wait until its in the bargain bin, which i dont think will be long.

Aug 30, 201210just beat it, and all i can say is AMAZING. much better than the story in gta 4, imo, albeit not as much replay-ability. still awesome open city fun though. overall, SE/UGF did very well.

Feb 6, 201390Unlike the previous ‘True Crime’ games, where there was a strict depiction of the city maps, Sleeping Dogs does not portray Hong Kong, inch by inch. United Front Games has implemented GTA’s novelties in way that winks slyly at Rockstar. In essence, what the GTA series has accomplished, Sleeping Dogs has carried out better and more elegantly. [October 2012]
-
Oct 11, 201260A solid GTA clone that ticks all the boxes but forgets to add the magic ingredient of improvisation. [Oct 2012, p.77]

Oct 10, 201280City action in an Asian style casts a fresh wind to the sandbox game genre, with attractive worlds full of details, great battle mechanics and cool free-run sections. [Sept 2012]
