60If you've got a 7-10 year-old who enjoyed the movie, feel free to tack another star on to the score; otherwise, consider yourself warned -- this is not your father's Spider-Man 2.
-
60The problem with Spiderman 2 is its lack of depth.
-
50Why didn't the PC get the GOOD version of Spider-Man 2? Who decided to make an entirely different and decidedly mediocre version of the game specifically for Windows users?
-
If you locate the right audience for this one, no doubt they'll enjoy it. Just make sure you never, ever mention the console version or the jig is definitely up. The game is short as most competent gamers will make it through the 6 levels within about 5-6 hours total.
-
A dull 3D Action game in the strictest sense and besides the wall climbing or web swinging that your character can do, it doesn't bring anything new to the genre
-
What we have here is a Spidey-themed action title aimed squarely at the younger PC gamer - think bright colours, no real-life guns (the bad guys tote silly sci-fi bubble-pistol thingummies instead) and gameplay so easy you can sail through it in a single afternoon. Gritty it ain't.
-
45After three hours (if you can make it that far) of crappy controls, mediocre visuals, and boring and generally unimaginative gameplay, you'll actually be glad to have finished the game so you can return it or burn it and move on with your life.
-
42This game can be completed, from start to finish in two hours. I am not joking. What's more is there's no incentive to go back and replay anything in this game. All in all, the PC version of this magnificent film, with an equally magnificent console game does not measure up to either side of its namesake.
-
This game just feels like an insult. Or maybe a practical joke. [Nov 2004, p.80]
-
The second thing you need to know? It’s appalling.
-
25The PC version is nothing more than formulaic action/adventure that's been dumbed down for kids. It's a waste of everyone's time...A colossal disappointment. [Oct 2004, p.92]
-
It's terrible...This is just the sort of game that gives movie license titles a bad name. [Nov 2004, p.87]

20The game sucks in every sense of the word. Sure, Bruce Campbell narrates the tutorial but that is the sole tiny nugget of goodness buried in this huge pile of wasted game.
