It’s not survival horror with trucks. It’s survival horror for trucks. You as a driver, as a person, as a foot on a gas pedal and a pair of hands, don’t exist. Whether it’s because Oovee didn’t want to fuss with character models or because it’s an intentional effort to focus on the element of machines vs nature without mere humanity in the middle to muck it all up, the world of Spintires is like Maximum Overdrive, that dopey horror movie where trucks come alive and drive themselves around. Not for the cheese factor, of course.

Spintires is a very good game. It's hard to imagine a better truck driving model - game engine paired with Havok covers up any issues the game might have (and it has some minor ones). Spintires is a game with an original theme and a great example of a simple, but extremely playable product. Great job.

Spintires is extreme in every sense. If you love the idea of driving off-road on mud and rocky tracks, it’s your next big-deal.

    Quotation forthcoming.

Spintires is a simulation game in which you drive through Russia with different off-road vehicles. The in-game physics are a blast and are very realistic, but overall Spintires can be kind of boring to some players. You only have one objective to complete, and all the maps look alike. Still, if you just enjoy riding through dirt, this is the game for you.

Seriously impressive physics, but not much of a game.
  7. Jul 18, 2014
There are quite a few positive aspects: the driving physics feel authentic, the real-time deformation of the surroundings is impressive too. But Spintires lacks depth, be it more varied missions or even the smallest economy system. This is more a tech demo than a game.

Really wonderful game for my Russian dirty soul =) It has everything: Russian trucks, woods, tons of dirt and wonderful birds singing... I would have more enjoyment if there were bears, but unfortunately I have to drive alone =( Expand

I f*cking love this game. You tool around in the mud and explore. The game is best played with at least 1 friend--it's such an enjoyable and hilarious experience. It's also interesting due to the different customizations for each truck. Expand

Honestly, I was looking at the graphics of the soft bodies of the tires with the deformation of the terrain while going through water. Wow this game is AMAZING. It is so incredibly frustrating but it is because of my patience. I see a hard muddy hill, and I think ill skip through the trees.... and it takes 3 times longer. The game is amazing!! Highly recommended to chill out and think with. Expand

I heard this game was made by a very small team (like 3 people) out of money gathered via crowdfunding - if that is the case, then chapeau bas and kudos for the developer. It is an amazingly well optimized piece of code, that makes this game unique in it's clash with environment. I cannot judge now how big the game is (5 maps, already played 2 and 3rd in multiplayer with a friend). It definitely is a game worth trying, it's got this vibe of a perfect game for whole summer season. Beat the mud or die in it. Expand

I didn't know anything about the game, but since I like driving and the physics looked nice, I bought it.

    It's awesome. It's like Dark
Souls for driving fans. You have to be carefull, think about your steps and be carefull.

Physics, Graphics, Immersion. It feels really great. The maps are nicely made too and offer huge challenges, especially in hardcore mode.

Camera sucks, but you can get it work well with the d-pad of the 360 gamepad.
Just woods. A sand-map would have been great.
A map editor or random generated maps would be nice too.
Saving several maps would be nice.

But it's so fun to play!

    2. Only 6 same looking maps
    3. Deliver lumber,thats it.
    4. Controls and Interface are mess.
    5. Graphics and view distance are poor even on max settings.

Do you love to get stuck in mud? Then this hardcore simulator is for you.
