The opportunity to fight using Star Trek ships is something that all Trekkies should salivate over.
No other Star Trek quite captures the tone and feel of the license, yet does so in a way that the license isn't even necessary to make the game exciting and appealing to any gamer.

It's been 16 years since Bridge Commander came out. A great game with amazing graphics for the time and a decent story. 16 years ago I took the bridge in that game and with various mods and fan patches I still am the captain of the USS Sovereign; NCC-73811.
For all those years one question doesn't leave my head... Why aren't there more games like this? Not even in the Star Trek brand, but at all? How come nobody knicked the gameplay of this game yet? Between Elite Force games and Bridge Commander we could've had something amazing, alas it never happened.
Anyway, Bridge Commander is a game still worth playing, after 16 years and with its status as abandonware... it shouldn't be too difficult to find floating online. If you're a Star Trek fan and haven't played this game yet, pick it up. It's worth the time.

I really like how Activision did the wonderful graphics, great missions, nice ships. Not only you can play with the missions with the ships, but you can do quick battles!

The game really has the Trek flavour pegged...Bridge Commander's sore spot is that mission structure is not nearly as open-ended as it could be.
It may not be the best Trek game out there, but it really manages to capture the feel of commanding one of the most powerful vessels in the Federation, and it’s a blast to boot.
One of the most realistic and captivating starship simulations ever made.
Even though Star Trek Bridge Commander has some wicked crashing issues and the single player is a little too linear, there's a very cool game in here. If you have the patience and a great rig, give it a shot.
The game is about a 10-hour experience. There's absolutely no reason to replay it.
