  1. While those who have not taken to the Jump to Lightspeed expansion may feel a little forced to do so (and make sure you have the right ship), the game combines new missions that drive the story and give players a much better sense of being part of the Star Wars universe.
  2. The new planet is very much alive and dynamic. It's got more features than any other planet in the series.

As you'd expect, there's a wealth of new characters to meet, and over a hundred challenging new quests to complete. Whether you're an Imperial stooge, a Rebel troublemaker, or an independent freelancer, there's more than enough to keep you busy.

Though the content is engaging, Kashyyyk is, by design, a bit removed from the rest of the game. You'll still be doing the same sorts of things here that you'd be doing on other planets but Kashyyyk definitely has a flavor all its own.
  5. Star Wars Galaxies, then, is in the best shape of its life right now, thanks in no small part to the recently released Episode III Rage of the Wookiees expansion.

Things are finally looking up for the big-name MMO that reached for the stars but never seemed to get off the ground.
  7. If you're a new player, this is not the expansion you're looking for. [Aug 2005, p.56]
  8. A meaty, critic-proof must-buy for any Galaxies subscriber. [Oct 2005, p.83]
  9. There's no denying that SWG is hardly in the best of health right now and something drastic needs to be done to restore balance to the force. Certainly something more than a simple expansion pack, that's for sure. Help us Lucas-Wan, you're our only hope.
  10. It's almost as if not enough time has been spent on either this or the Combat Upgrade, making it impossible to accept RoTW as it stands. [July 2005, p.95]

CU ruined the entire game and ignoring the cu's testers requests to ditch the hard level system, add back in a limited combat que and give us the old icons in some fashion. Until they satisfy these 3 major problems almost EVERY tester of the CU had you cannot give this game a passing rating. They ignored the customers, pushed out the cu and ROTW and have not given satisfactory answers or reasoning behind the need for a hard level system in a game previously about crafters and community. IF you enjoyed crafting and community the great interface is all that remains. No matter what you won't top looted crap, which totally negates weapons and armor crafting as viable professions. Those who do it charge way to much for decaying items just to break even. Only viable combat profession now is BH/mixed or Jedi which just saw a major nerf. They complicated smuggling slicing and still have yet to give smugglers ANYTHING TO SMUGGLE! Can you believe these devs still have jobs? Full Review »

A disastrous upgrade has seen many long term players quitting!. This used to be quite simply the best on the market. Now it has been dumbed down and if heads are not rolling at sony i might think it a plot to evacuate the games market. Do not be tempted until you hear different. Full Review »

No comment on this mess of an expansion.
