  • Summary: Trials of Obi-Wan, the third expansion to Star Wars Galaxies, opens-up great new adventures and quests via the addition of the planet Mustafar - a dark and desolate planet of smoldering volcanoes, lava, and an extremely harsh landscape. For those of you who saw Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, you will recognize Mustafar as the location of the final battle between Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi. It is from the exact spot where Anakin was struck down that Obi-Wan guides you and provides your quests to fulfill your destiny. But, do not let Mustafar fool you - hidden within the planet are many lost powers and relics of the Old Republic that are yours for the taking, but only after you have sought-out and uncovered them. The creatures that inhabit Mustafar are just as fierce and cruel as the landscape. Battle the ferocious jandak, tulrus, and lava beetles - but be weary as these creatures’ existence have made them extremely tough and even more aggressive.Trials of Obi-Wan also features an exciting (and ruthless) new boss creature which will be showcased in an upcoming feature. 1. This is both a reward for players that have spent lightyears leveling their characters up to 60+ and an incentive for other players to reach these high levels.
  2. A solid expansion to the massively multiplayer online game. However, the expansion is limited to high level players, which makes it a bit less accessible than most would have liked.
  3. The expansion is aimed squarely at the high-level ground-based combat players, and is a solid addition of content for them. That only this one group of players is catered to fully though only serves to alienate those left behind and devalues the offering overall.
  4. Trials of Obi-Wan doesn’t lay out any new framework for player cooperation, competition or any kind of interaction apart from grouping to kill a tougher opponent, and it fails at bringing real immersion in the Star Wars universe to a game where this feeling is already very scarce.

I love this game and all of its expantions! I love the way it blends together many aspects of the star wars films while adding some new and interesting profesions. Although i do admit the decisions to go through with the NGE by SOE was a terrible mistake, but this game still rules. The game today is a little un even with all the new updates for each of the professions and could do with a little look into for example commando is an almost unstoppable profession when played by someone who knows how to click a mouse button, while jedi, BH and smuggler are very underpower in my oppinion. I love this game and will play it to the end. Hopefully SOE will bring out a new expantion mid april this year. Expand

i would of given this add-on 8 before SOE announced the NGE but not it is a waste , Sony are offering a refund as they have just changed the game so drastically most vet SWG players are now quitting the game felling totally let down. Collapse

NGE was a sad day for this game. Simplified combat system, no challange at all.
