  1. Yet another indie game that totally blows away what the faceless corporations put out.
  2. Perhaps the best modern tank simulator on the market.
  3. Yes, there's a fairly steep learning curve, and yes, accelerated simulations such as "M1 Tank Platoon II" might look a smidgen better, but those are minor quibbles. If you like tank simulations, or have ever thought you might like tank simulations, this is the game for you.
  4. This is the best tank simulation you can buy, and maybe the best one ever. [Dec 2000, p.170]
  5. It combines both simulation and wargaming elements to produce a superb gaming experience.

Steel Beasts is fun, deep and challenging, everything a good simulation should be. That it was developed, in large part, by a single person in their spare time should be a lesson to the rest of the industry. It won't, but it should be.
  7. A no-frills tank sim that has a very solid base but not a great deal in terms of extras or window-dressing. Tank sim fans will find this a pleasing and detailed addition to their collection but anyone who is looking for the latest graphics, frantic shooting or options by the bucketload will not find them here.

If you're up to its challenges, Steel Beasts offers an accurate, involving, and rewarding simulation of modern tank warfare.
  9. My biggest complaint with SB is that there is no sort of story line to go with the game.
  10. No 3d acceleration, but the mission editor gives unlimited amounts of gameplay for both novices and experts alike.
  11. The hardcore fan will be rewarded after investing plenty of time exploring the depths of the simulation, which makes it a worthwhile endeavor. Outflanking the enemy and unleashing a devastating shelling barrage has rarely been this enjoyable.
  12. The best simulation of modern tank (and maybe just tank, period) operations ever.
  13. Though Steel Beasts sets new standards as a multiplayer tank sim, it is specifically focused on that area to the exclusion of all others.

Although the graphics aren't the best, the game has great gameplay multiplayer capibility.

This Simulation separates the Men from the boys . Steel Beasts is used to train real Tank crews in many Forces around the World .
