  • Summary: The whole world is nothing but a battlefield. And you are on the front line - in the very center of realistic battle action, which even amazes and delights the shrewdest strategy experts. As the commander of German, Russian, British, American and, finally, Japanese troops, you fight on water and on land as well as in the air. You can extend your actions through numerous specific commands in remarkable ways. The four different available difficulty levels and the fascinating multiplayer mode are thrilling beyond imagination. The user-friendly editor allows for unlimited supplies of professionally generated maps and missions - making sure the action never ends. With Sudden Strike II the war is far from over! [CDV] Expand

  1. Instead of investing time and energy into making demanding 3D graphics, the crew at FireGlow has concentrated on improving the gameplay by increasing the number of missions, units, and tactical possibilities.
  2. For those tired of frantic building in fantasy worlds, Sudden Strike 2 serves up something pleasantly different and satisfying. [Jan 2003, p.82]

There are better games in a similar setting but none of them offer the real-time pace or the epic scale.
  4. What you're really looking at is more of the same.
  5. Large scale real-time World War II combat is a great idea, but Sudden Strike II falls short in its execution. Take away all of the World War II units, and you are left with a very average strategy game.

A decent real-time tactical simulation, but a fairly unpolished one that doesn't address many shortcomings of the original.
  7. It doesn't work consistently, but it's entertaining when it does. [Dec 2002, p.134]

Horrid. Anyone remember Cannon Fodder? For a "realistic" strategy game, it plays like an amateuristic children's version of war, albeit with blood and carnage. Teeny-tiny little men, very few unit options, and no way to organize soldiers into formations. Even though World War II:Frontline Command sucks, I'd still recommend it over this poor game. Expand
