  1. While the RPG and action elements aren't exactly balanced equally, this game may be most appealing to RPG fans who like a bit of excitement in their role-playing experience.
  2. A decent game. It has several features and modes that I enjoyed. I particularly liked the soundtrack and the sound effects. I did like the Shipyard the most out of the entire game. Sadly the voice acting could have be a LOT better.
  3. Swashbucklers doesn’t have anything that’s worth the purchase, and it can be looked over by most gamers.
  4. The game draws heavily on Sid Meier’s Pirates!, with some minor differences in setting and more action-oriented gameplay. Still, it lacks the polish of Pirates! and gets bogged down by some questionable interface decisions reminiscent of older, less-refined games.
  5. Swashbucklers is a derivative game that borrows heavily from other pirate-based games, but fails to capture their sense of fun and exploration.

You should probably avoid Swashbucklers: Blue vs. Grey even if you're obsessed with pirates -- it's just not a well-made game.
  7. An inferior copy of a classic, Swashbucklers isn't worth your time.
  8. A bargain basement title with more press than gameplay ... and where the only piracy practiced might be the time that it steals from your day.
  9. What really kills the game for me is the load of historical inaccuracies and anachronisms. I know, games are supposed to be fun, games are not supposed to be exactly like reality.
  10. Swashbucklers tries to do many things, but ultimately disappoints in all of them.
