A perfectly satisfying second instalment of the fantastic Tales of Monkey series. The was some more subtle adult humour this time though, which 'The Screaming Narwhal' lacked. Again the game's graphics and length aren't more than what you'd expect for the price, but the witty humour and clever puzzles make it well worth a purchase if you enjoyed the first. Expand

The second chapter in Tales of Monkey Island is high on quality, even more so than the first installment. The puzzles are accessible and logical, two primary qualities you look for in this genre. Over all it loses points primarily for its brevity. It was just too short to be satisfying, and right when it seemed like the game might be building to a climax it ended abruptly. Hopefully the next chapter will have the same quality with a bit more quantity. Expand

As a longtime fan of Monkey Island, I was disappointed by this game. All the familiar elements are there and there's lots of good stuff to be had, but the horrific audio compression just killed any enjoyment of it for me. The voices sound absolutely horrible. Hopefully Telltale will fix this in future releases, and perhaps release high quality audio for this and other previous chapters.

Unfortunately this title suffers from the dreaded sophomore slump in which it fails to live up to the standards of the first effort. Long time fans of the Monkey Island franchise might also be disappointed in both the setting and freshly introduced characters. While it isn't a bad effort by any means it (at times) simply doesn't feel worthy of being a M.I. game as it's quite different. Expand

  1. The Siege of Spinner Cay takes off where the previous episode ended, and continues in the same fashion with great dialogue and a sense of humour rarely seen in games today.
  2. Just as was the case with the episode before it, Tales of Monkey Island Chapter 2: The Siege of Spinner Cay's puzzles represent excellence on Telltale's part. Not only are they consistently intuitive and well developed, but are generally accompanied with hilarious dialogue that should make any fan of Monkey Island chuckle from beginning to end.

The Siege of Spinner Cay is a funnier outing, with a cool plot and some great stumper-puzzles. It also continues to ramp up the action, tension and comedy of the series, making it feel a part of something much greater and more epic.
