  1. This is a worthy addition to the Tales of Monkey Island series. It's one that all adventure fans should own and everyone else should at least try.
  2. While not the best of the chapters, The Trial and Execution of Guybrush Threepwood's story progression and cliffhanger ending have me more excited for the next episode than I have been for any of the previous ones.
  3. The Trial And Execution Of Guybrush Threepwood has proved that Telltale has what it takes to equal LucasArts's best. [Christmas 2009, p.114]

The Trial and Execution of Guybrush Threepwood may not be the funniest episode, but it does have a lot to do, some great puzzles, and Stan.
  5. With the fourth episode of the Tales of Monkey Island-series, Telltale manages to maintain a high quality of both puzzles and dialogue. With some interesting story twists and new characters, it will be really interesting to see how everything ends in the next episode's season finale.
  6. The Trial and Execution of Guybrush Threepwood starts slowly and so It ends. In the middle Telltale put a good story, a couple of fantastic characters and some rewarding puzzles. Maybe not the best episode of the series, The Trial and Execution of Guybrush Threepwood is still an enjoyable game.
  7. Telltale's production quality is remarkable, and they must be commended for at least pushing the series violently towards what is sure to be a fascinating climax. However, the game must also be criticized for the inconsistency of its flow and the near-complete lack of original locations and characters (Stan's delightful return notwithstanding).
