  1. Even out of Lucasarts' hands, Tales of Monkey Island remains right a staple of the genre. Any adventure fan should have this in their collection. We recommend you buy the whole package right now.
  2. Tales of Monkey Island is probably one of the best games that came out last year, and probably one of the best adventure games that has come out in recent memory.
  3. Some clever puzzle work and manic action towards the end make for a good time.

Telltale delivers an episode that capitalizes on the story built in the first four. It's a thrilling, entertaining epitome of adventure games.
  5. Even with a few hiccups along the way, most of them technical ones in the Wiiware version of the game, the story and characters more than make up for any of that.
  6. Tales of Monkey Island is an engaging and well written story that is a fun game to boot. Chapter Five struggles a little but ultimately brings the story to a fitting close.
  7. While not my favorite in the season, is wonderful in its own right, and does not, by any means, disappoint. It's a hilarious, outrageous conclusion, and one that any fan of the series will appreciate completely.
  8. Tales of Monkey Island is one of the mos frantic and fun adventures out there, specially from the third chapter. Telltale Games has not resurrected Guybrush just to make profits, but to create a new set of adventures that work perfectly.

The last part of Tales is also my favourite, smoothly bringing together elements from all four chapters to a fitting close that verges on epic (thought perhaps just misses the mark). It's not the hardest chapter despite being the last, this one concentrates more on narrative and tying up all the loose ends. I think this finale, and perhaps the whole season, eclipsed Escape and cements itself as a worth entry in the Monkey Island series. While I still dream of a new full next-gen MI game, I'd also be happy to see Telltale make more Tales as good as these. Full Review »

The Rise of the Pirate God may be a bit too easy, but not short of perfect as an ending to a great chapter in the Monkey Island series. A truly epic final battle (perhaps one of the most amazing in the series) closes the tale, leaving you hungry and excited for the next game. The design is definitely unique, with the spirit world being almost like a pirate heaven. Good fun, assuming you've played (and loved) the past four chapters, there is no reason you shouldn't, and wouldn't pick this up. 9/10 for this chapter, but 10/10 on Tales of Monkey Island as a whole.
