A thoroughly mediocre space combat game with a good storyline, decent graphics and bad sounds. Active wingmen and good spacecraft modification are a nice touch. [Oct 2007]
Tarr Chronicles is a solid mid-price space combat title. It may not be the best ever, but is't a solid and fun offering.

Though it may get frustrating at times and is a little slow paced, if you're aching for a chance to fly through the galaxy in a personally-customized flying canister of destruction, Tarr Chronicles might be the game to satisfy the urge.
With the combat interminably dull and the story unintelligibly delivered, this isn't the triumphant return of the space shooter we'd hoped for. [Dec 2007, p.62]
Those not expecting too much, who may be pining for an uncomplicated spin through familiar territory will certainly enjoy Tarr Chronicles, but it's no substitute for replaying the utterly fantastic and cheap, "FreeSpace 2." [Christmas 2007, p.92]
