This one’s not only for fans of old-school hard-core 2D platforming, but also for those being open to experimental games with unusual topics. Edmund McMillen’s indie games contained in The Basement Collection provide the proper stuff for some entertaining hours. Just the responsiveness of the controls could be improved a little.

    This game completes nerds.

Great stuff, very thorough and much added. Lots of hidden gems. Spewer is awesome... and I think Portal 2 should pay love to it for the variants of liquid goo that serve particular purposes. Aether is one of my favorite games and I'm glad it's back with some updated goods. Triachnid is an indie masterpiece and I'm glad it's back with a right-click. There's a lot of extras here for true nerdcore fans... including interviews, concept art, prototypes, and snippets from Indie Game the Movie. For the price it's incredible. I haven't unlocked everything... so I'm secretly hoping the game Guppy is locked away... since I've been drooling over it since I've seen it on Youtube.

Besides, it's cheap. Anyway, the game themselves offer hours of challenge and entertainment. It's a really great collection if you like experimental and/or indie games or Edmund McMillen's games themselves. 10/10 Expand

Some of the games (Aether in particular, perhaps Triachnid as well) aren't quite games so much as they are interactive art of a kind. But 3Some of the games (Aether in particular, perhaps Triachnid as well) aren't quite games so much as they are interactive art of a kind. But 3 chapters of the original Meat Boy as well as Time Fkcu Spewer make this worth the paltry $2.99. Though they're all available as free flash games and though some of the games may slightly lag on older machines, the fact that they're all bundled nicely together with achievements included makes it well worth a download Expand

Sometimes with a smaller development team you end up with something closer to a piece of modern art, raw and emotive. Are they the greatest games in the world? No? Are they fresh and strange? Yes.
