  • Summary: In a scenario drawn from the film, The LEGO Movie Videogame puts LEGO kids into the role of Emmet, an ordinary, rules-following, perfectly average LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world. Players guide him as he is drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which Emmet is hopelessly and hilariously underprepared. Expand

If you are a fan of the movie, then this game makes a good companion for it.

The laughs are lifted from the movie but the gameplay is a lot of fun for anyone capable of holding a controller. [Issue #240]

The LEGO Movie Videogame is a really decent game that will charm only the most hardcore fans of Danish bricks. The mechanics are well-known, there's lots of things to do and find, but you'll find almost no novelties - if you've given up on the series, you won't come back. If you simply can't get enough of LEGOs, then buy it. But watch the movie first - you'll avoid spoilers.

Extends a concise and hilarious film into a much longer and less consistent interactive experience that sometimes dips into boring territory...It's solidly enjoyable – but nowhere near awesome.

Another solid Lego game, but not as rich in content as great Lego Marvel Super Heroes. Plus this time there was no room for the tongue-in-cheek reinterpretation of the source material, so this is just a movie tie-in. [04/2014, p.64]

Neither a good Lego game nor tribute to the movie—at best, The Lego Movie Videogame is enough fun to be called a functioning promotional product.

Enjoyed every minute of this so far! Having enjoyed the film it was fun to see all the environments replicated so well in the game. If you liked the film you'll love this :) Expand

Just plain sucks. It completely steers away from the movie. The music also sucks, and the different music used for movie scenes was a terrible pick. Also, the character voicing of the original ones was embarrassingly bad. Expand
